RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 f*** that's a good lefty for the Sox.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 If Shapiro doesn't make a trade today, I don't have much faith in our playoff chances especially with the Tulo injury You can't blame Shartkins for not wanting to overpay. If you don't see something that makes you a lot better today you don't do it. I wanted Reddick and Hill but very few teams could offer more than the Dodgers can.

Yeah but I think we do need to add a starter doesn't have to be Rich Hill and a lefty reliever And Abad would have fit the bill. We just lost another game to the bullpen

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Things I want by today: - Logan (or another lefty arm) - Starter of decent quality - Starter with options that's of similar quality to Chavez but has an option so we can send him down and put Hutch as a swing - Tulo not being injured Then if Sanchez heads to the pen we have an elite pen. If he don't, then we still have a pretty good one and we can run a nice 6 man rotation
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 37s38 seconds ago Sources: Frankie Montas, Grant Holmes and Jharel Cotton going to #Athletics. @Jeffpassan first on Montas.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 s***, I was hoping for Reddick:(
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Abad is awful lol. idk why people are up in arms, he's having an ok year
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Abad is awful lol. I thought he is having a pretty decent year?
King Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Now it would have taken a lot to beat that Dodgers offer for Hill and Reddick.

That's a good haul for the A's. Montas and maybe Cotton could help right away..
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 idk why people are up in arms, he's having an ok year Yeah, he's not having a bad year.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 I thought he is having a pretty decent year? 4.17 xFIP. SwStr dropped from 10%+ to 6.0% this year and projects for 0.1 WAR rest of season. Pretty much a replacement LOOGY.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Abad is holding lefties to an ops below .400
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 #14 Red Sox prospect for Abad Comon Shatkins..
UKBlueJaysFan Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Hi all, Just got in from work here in the UK. Just catching up with news... So looks like Santana or Hellickson then? Just seen Jay Bruce to Mets. Reddick and Hill is a kick in the bollocks mind. Market looking a bit thin! If Bosox get Sale we may as well concentrate on wildcard.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 #14 Red Sox prospect for Abad Comon Shatkins.. Girodo is better than Abad probably.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Dodgers are going to get Sale too you can feel it. Still won't catch the Giants I am sure
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 brett cecil's curveball looks as good as ever. He came off an injury in the offseason, and had one mid season. He's starting to find it and will be dominant down the stretch. Getting him back to normal is like trading for a stud reliever.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Abad is holding lefties to an ops below .400 3.63 xFIP vs. Lefties. Once again he's ok but he's not as scary as people think I don't think
UKBlueJaysFan Verified Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 If they do and still don't win the World Series, they never will with Hill and Reddick too.

We should get one more Loogy though because I don't want Cecil to be tied down as a situational pitcher
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 Oakland did very well. It doesn't matter what prospects the Dodgers trade they always have the ability to restock the system or buy whoever they want.
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2016 Posted August 1, 2016 If they do and still don't win the World Series, they never will with Hill and Reddick too. and if Kershaw doesn't pitch the rest of the season?

Even if thats true that is an if right now championship teams don't rely on ifs Anyways we need a starter. Sanchez to the pen means we have a rotation of Estarda Happ Hutch Dickey Stroman Dickey and Stroman are having struggling years. Hutch who knows. What concerns me most is that if Estrada gets hurt we are looking at Chavez starting? Not good. Need to get another depth starter to sure up things
