HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Barry Davis sits when he pees I do this when I have a raging boner, like right now
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Hey I have a good question for you guys. we all keep talking about Bautista to DH and Upton to the OF.... Why not put Saunders as a DH instead? Saunders looks so fragile when he chases balls down and tbh he's below average as a fielder. I think Bautista stays in the OF and Saunders DHs Its quite clear Jose, Saunders and Edwin will rotate and share the DH spot pretty evenly from here on out

I think Bautista stays in the OF and Saunders DHs They'll probably give both of them time at DH while Upton covers LF and RF. I don't think this means the end of Zeke. He's prob going to be the 4th OF with Upton starting. It will be Smoak who sees his role diminish, if anything.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Some names I think could be moved in addition to the previously mentioned ones: Ryan Borucki DJ Davis Danny Jansen
Cyborg Verified Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I really dont want Upton hitting against righties.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I imagine they will rotate who DHs between the 2 of them. Keep both their legs fresh. That's exactly what they will do and its wonderful.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Bautista and Saunders will be splitting DH/LF the rest of the way, IMO. Also, everybody plug your noses, because I can pretty much guarantee Gibby is going to play Mupton at leadoff.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Please let it be DJ Davis lol If that happens I will officially start calling him Atkins instead of Shartkins.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Please let it be DJ Davis lol You mean the guy we drafted ahead of Corey Seager?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Decent piece. 28% K rate and doesn't BB much. His D numbers are ok, but he is a long way from the 5 WAR player he was in 2008. Upgrade over Junior Lake and Zeke who is crashing back down to earth. Not much to see here folks. Hope we didn't give up Pentecost. He's been about a 3 WAR player over his last 162 games. A solid player. I do find it interesting his defense has been below average this year. Should we be concerned? He's just slowing down with age I guess?

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Is it fair to say that Melvin is in essence this year's Revere?
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Normally I would think so, but JB wants to lead off so that wont change. I was so pleasantly surprised that Bautista was even open to the idea, I always assumed he was one of those old school derps who thinks the best hitter bats third.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Is it fair to say that Melvin is in essence this year's Revere? He has like 3x as many HR this year as Revere has in his career.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I really dont want Upton hitting against righties. So just a short side platoon guy for you?
Cyborg Verified Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Is it fair to say that Melvin is in essence this year's Revere? Yes very similar situations.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Is it fair to say that Melvin is in essence this year's Revere? I would think so. Upton provides better D though i think.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 His defence in left grades out pretty well this season. Could be valuable in the corners defensively.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I would think so. Upton provides better D though i think. And power...
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 He has like 3x as many HR this year as Revere has in his career. Well Revere kind of sucks and they don't bat from the same side or have the same skill set but they're both um... athletic? That's something right.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 You mean the guy we drafted ahead of Corey Seager? Don't remind me Is it fair to say that Melvin is in essence this year's Revere? Sure but keep him as far away from the lead off spot as possible!!! How's the lineup gonna look guys? Bautista Donaldson Edwin Saunders Tulo Martin Upton Pillar Travis ?
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Bautista and Saunders will be splitting DH/LF the rest of the way, IMO. Also, everybody plug your noses, because I can pretty much guarantee Gibby is going to play Mupton at leadoff. No way. He's learned from the Pillar experiment. Jose is there to stay.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Well Revere kind of sucks and they don't bat from the same side or have the same skill set but they're both um... athletic? That's something right. Youre right in terms of deadline aquisition with one more year of control that we are getting paid down to try and fill out the offense.

Bautista Donaldson Edwin Saunders Tulo Martin Upton Pillar Travis ? Would look better with Smoak, against righties at least.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I know people like Travis at 9 as a good transition to the leadoff, but I want as much AB as possible for the kid. Move him after Tulo.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I would think so. Upton provides better D though i think. 100% He can actually throw a baseball.
LGBJ29 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Is it fair to say that Melvin is in essence this year's Revere? Yes but better offence and defence.
