fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 5.5 games out is nothing. Y'all forget that we have a month out of the AL East, meaning other AL East teams are gonna start beating each other on their heads, and we'll gain ground that way. We also easily had the hardest schedule with the least amount of days off in the East up until B-more series so we should improve down the stretch until the All-Star game while other 2 teams should start facing tougher competition

Central is pretty strong until you get to the Twins. Baltimore (until the final July series against the Jays) and Boston each just have the 1 series against the Rays and Yankees so there really isn't much beating each other up. I'd say the O's have a tough schedule, and Boston has the easiest month (7 against the Angels, 3 Rays, 3 Twins). With that said looking at schedules doesn't mean all that much

Now that we're out of there we have less head to head matchups, which I think is an advantage. I could be mid understanding schedules as well
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 You guys keep expecting the Orioles to fade cause of their over achieving offense, well why not apply the same to us, and our overachieving pitching? I highly doubt Estrada is this elite. His BABIP is even lower this year, walk rate is up a ton, K rate down a ton. He is due for regression. Same with Happ. Career worst peripherals and his last two starts may be a correction. Sanchez has looked great and I'm happy but this will not last, we know it Stroman is the one guy that can improve if he wasn't so stubborn Dickey is whatever

But that is why they play the games.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Why are people expecting the Orioles to regress? Have we not seen this story before (2012 and 2014)? I think their offense and pen carries their s*** starting pitching and then they'll trade for help at the deadline. I think they got the East. Jays win the 1st WC, beat the Royals in the WC game, advance to beat the Rangers in the ALDS, and then beat the O's in the ALCS to advance to the World Series. Beat all our least favorite teams in one shot. It's destiny.

As are his infield flys which is just as good as a strikeout.

Which is what comes naturally with more K's Just decided to spew garbage to sound different without even looking at the stat sheet huh?
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 His walk rate is up from 7.6 to 10% per batter, so it is up. No idea where he came up with the strikeouts crap though. His BABIP will regress and he's still going to be a good pitcher. The "Stroman would improve if he wasnt stubborn" is another completely ******** point as well so whatever
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 do people actually think if Stroman threw more 4 seamers and less 2 seamers he's going to suddenly turn into an Ace/#2?
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 why not Exactly, He might be due for a slight regression but Sanchez looks like a stud
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 do people actually think if Stroman threw more 4 seamers and less 2 seamers he's going to suddenly turn into an Ace/#2? No. It would give hitters a different look though because they are sitting on his 90 MPH 2 seamer and if its up are clobbering it. Its an overal lack of command and his breaking pitches don't have the same bite. They aren't swinging at the ones out of the strike zone anymore.

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 why not He's pulling a classic Kilace, pulling his black cloud around hoping for as many bites as possible, you ever notice he never replies to facts.
