connorp Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Everyone with a pulse would. Break out the meme of guy with zits saying "would not bang" because I Googled out of curiosity and I would not bang 100%
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 They need to run studies on the physics of different pitches and how they are affected by the altitude. I've read an article where fastballs and sliders are least affected so if true it would probably be a smart idea to get pitchers who can rely on throwing a lot of fastballs and sliders, Jon Gray being a good start. Whatever other studies they could do, they should be done as well. Perhaps good defensive players are extra important with a heightened run atmosphere like that, for example. They should constantly be searching for whatever edge they can get in that ballpark. But ownership isn't interested in running a team like that. They've basically had the same type of old-school GM for decades and it's not a very forward thinking front office. They view the ballpark as a curse but it doesn't have to be. If they maximized whatever benefits and/or mitigated whatever detriments Coors Field offers they could be playing to an advantage 81 times a season. Instead they field broken teams that don't properly take advantage of the quirky home park. Yeah exactly. Wouldn't it be fastball-changeup though? Since coors makes breaking balls not break as much? I think they should definitely have an emphasis of having good defensive OFers. Offensively you would try to target flyball hitters and guys who don't strike out much.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Jays lineup looks pretty bad today with Thole and Lake instead of Saunders. Anderson for COL has been really good in his 3 starts but hopefully the middle of the order can do some damage.
geer36 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 What a game. Stayed for the whole thing. They stopped serving at 10:30 but we stockpiled and managed to get super drunk. If by chance you heard someone heckling flande very loudly it was likely me lol. Then some woman who had been yapping all game got pissed at me and told me I was worse than a mexican goaltender???? I called her a racist, and she followed up with "you are the racist because youre north of the border". Lol. I then told her it was time to go or she'd be late for the Trump rally. That finished her off and she swore a few times then stormed out with her boyfriend. Good times.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 29, 2016 Author Posted June 29, 2016 There is a particularly loud and disgruntled Rockies fan that's getting picked up by the mics lol From last night ^ Could definitely hear fans yelling.
geer36 Verified Member Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Lol, i was doing a very loud Flaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnn-deeeeeeeeeeeeee. Later we were getting on their 3rd base coach Cole as well. We were right at 3rd base and there was about 50-100 jays fans there all getting in on it

Although I think you almost were responsible for killing Travis because you heckled Flande mid-pitch and he lost control and let it fly toward Travis' head.

From what I read it's not necessarily as simple as "breaking balls don't break as much". Certain pitches rotate and spin differently which leads to different results. Regardless, whatever those pitches may be they need to identify them so we are on the same page.

I'll be at today's game too but in 241 this time, not sure if my voice will carry from there.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Out of curiosity cause I don't have kids yet, why is it so good for young kids? Because the meals come fast. It's almost like fast food at a sit down restaurant (only it tastes better)
