BTS Community Moderator Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 The latter 2 have played very well in June, just saying. That's kind of beside the point. Overall they've been incredibly disappointing, and its a testament to the quality of the team that they're in WC contention despite the fact that many of their stars have played like complete s***.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 2-6 in last 8. s*****, but that's baseball. 41-37 with a hold on Wild Card 2, not even at the season's half yet. Most teams would love to be the Jays right now, so everyone needs to chill. You've really changed your outlook lately, I remember you being extremely frustrated. I shall try to follow suit.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 At least the Red Sox seem to be crashing down to earth. To their credit their traveling schedule has been pretty rough, but they have some glaring holes in the bullpen and a few in the starting lineup. Travis Shaw's red hot start has declined at a rapid pace, they need another outfielder (unless you believe that the return of Brock Holt will solve their problems) and their catchers have been an offensive black-hole. It's the other birds in the division that we have to be concerned about.

I was just adding on, I agree with ya, you fart smelling sphincter loving hermaphrodite.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 The only problem is this was probably the easiest stretch of games we were going to have for a while. Needed to do way better than we have I'm not saying 4 > .500 is ideal, but the team is still poised to make a strong run. I'd also argue that a weekend spent facing Carlos Rodon and Chris Sale is not easy by any stretch.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Allow me to take a moment to brag about my MLB ticket tonight... i had.. under (11.5) Jays/Rockies Rays to win Over 8 runs (Rays/Red sox) Nationals to win Indians to win Cubs to win 800$+ ticket. (30$ bet) Yeah. I'm an idiot for jinxing that. Silly Jays.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Yeah. I'm an idiot for jinxing that. Silly Jays. Told Ya!
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Home teams are 16-0 all time when Toronto and Colorado play each other. Wish this series was in Canada.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 You've really changed your outlook lately, I remember you being extremely frustrated. I shall try to follow suit. There were some inexcusable offensive performances early that I couldn't resist commenting on, but was I really that bad? I always thought my posts stayed relatively level-headed when it came to the long term perspective.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Of course not, but they are what they are: an above average team that's received absolutely nothing from the likes of Bautista, Stroman, Martin, and Tulowitzki. I wouldn't say they've received nothing. Stroman is on pace to be an around 3 WAR starter which is right around where he was projected to be. Just because he's been really bad this last stretch doesn't change how good he was earlier in the season much like Martin and Tulo. All teams have performance vary from player to player

Your frustration level came across as pretty high, I think I even remember you commenting about it getting out of control. Not saying anything bad man, I do need to chill as you have obviously done. No matter how angry I get it's not going to change anything, so there's really no point.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I really believe in this Jays lineup, but the decline on Stroman hurts and the fact that this regime is gonna move Sanchez to the bullpen has me a little nervous... There was also a report that came out a few days ago that they'd be limiting Estrada's innings. If they don't make some deals at the deadline it's hard to envision who's going to lead the rotation down the stretch run.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I think he's mis-remembering, bro. I could be but I don't think I am. Regardless, I was commending him for now having a level head, wasn't trying to insult him at all. If we could all keep our cool that way, we'd all be better off.

All teams have performance vary from player to player It's really just a semantic argument with Stroman. While the xFIP is nice, he hasn't actually contributed real wins this year. The other three have combined for like 1 win.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Yeah. I'm an idiot for jinxing that. Silly Jays. Im glad the Nats lost otherwise that would have been a crushing defeat.

Ticking time bombs and you don't want to be around when they explode.
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 @4Life19: Apparently Thor's having some elbow soreness and he got roughed up badly tonight. Makes Jays fans feel a little better about RA
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 They won 11-4? Why haven't you been banned yet?
BTS Community Moderator Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Yeah I guess so but I still think those players have been better than you made it sound lol. Have they? Bautista, Martin and Tulo are at a combined 1.2 fWAR through 78 games. That's like 6 wins less than we would have expected.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 They won 11-4? lol when I looked at the score I thought I saw a 1 instead of 11. In that case... I don't even know what to say haha. Man

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Why haven't you been banned yet? lol wat.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Venting doesn't appear to be widely accepted. Society doesn't allow it. It promotes weakness and vulnerabilities. When in reality humans are fragile and extremely vulnerable. I blame the Catholic Church.
Dylan Old-Timey Member Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Pen sucked again? Shocking. Glad I missed this one

That's like 6 wins less than we would have expected. Martin playing through the neck injury cost him some production I'd say. If the Jays had a better backup he probably went on the DL and his numbers look a lot better.
