Then he should have let him try to end it even when he got into trouble. If he was dealing, why would allowing 2 base runners negate that?

 

I just don't get the 'when the starter gives up a baserunner or two, take him out' philosophy. The reliever comes in at a disadvantage every single time.

 

You're right. It was a very hard decision whether or not to take Sanchez out after the game was 2-1.

Even with all this losing in Detroit, Toronto is still only a game out of Seattle.. as the Mariners are imploding due to injuries and regression to the mean.. they're not a good team.

Well, a lot of AL teams are in a similar boat--Detroit, Toronto and KC are all within a game of Seattle (2nd wild card).. and meanwhile Baltimore is starting to run with the division.. and I can imagine Red Sox Nation is ticked off..

Maybe Bautista and Edwin will learn a lesson from this game and be less selfish in upcoming games. One can only hope that something positive will come out of this game.

I think it's time to say it this offense will not overcome whatever problems they are having. Whether it's regression or luck or chemistry we are beyond they will come around.

It's like the Jays don't know how to play at Comerica.. they seem more used to small ballparks in the AL East.. at least a few of those flyballs may be HRs at Rogers Centre.. but CF in Detroit is large.. thank goodness tomorrow is our last game there this year.

This game showed net positive signs IMO. Sanchez hurled an unreal game and we might have a #1 starter. Excellent sign for rest of season.
