It was a 4 run lead with 1 out. Girado stinks vs RHB but hes really good vs LHB.

Obviously there is no problem using Girodo if you have a deep pen. Things turn to s*** very quickly with our pen and then there is no one to stop the bleeding.

 

And it's not like we burned Osuna, he only threw 11 pitches.

Yeah but Storen has been better lately. With a four run lead with one on with one out in the ninth, this might have been a good time to get Storen some good forward momentum. He could have been on a quick hook regardless with Osuna ready if needed. I'm fine with Osuna, but Gibby has to find low risk opportunities to build a foundation to move forward with. We're not going anywhere this season using two relievers regardless.

You gotta give Gibby credit, he has tried with Cecil and Storen, but has gotten burned so many times this year. Plus think of how devastating it would have been to lose this one up 6 runs at one point on a night Travis returned to the line-up and Martin hit 2 hrs when it's been a tough start to the season. It was a must win for the morale of the team.

I was ok with it too. We needed to close out a W tonight badly to give us a shot at winning this series, and Gibby didn't want to take any chances. It may bite us tomorrow but we have just blown too many games to f*** around.

First real hot day (over 30°C) in New York and the Blue Jays bats came alive. Maybe the warm air will get rid of Martin's aches and pains, and the ball carries better in hot humid air which is good for a home run hitting team like the Blue Jays.
