burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 His last 3 starts he didn't have the dependence on the 2SM. He returned to his crap philosophy tonight and returned to his April results, only amplified. Thats a ******** theory. In his last 3 starts he threw 48.7% 2 seam and this start it was 51.4% hardly a big difference.. 4 of his 7 whiffs were even with the 2 seam and only 1 whiff out of 16 cutters and 4 seamers. Biggest thing looked to be his velo was down across the board. Averaged only 91.8 MPH with the FB tonight. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/pfx.php?s_type=3&sp_type=1&batterX=0&year=2016&month=5&day=17&pitchSel=573186.xml&game=gid_2016_05_17_tbamlb_tormlb_1/&prevGame=gid_2016_05_17_tbamlb_tormlb_1/ http://www.brooksbaseball.net/outcome.php?player=573186&b_hand=-1&gFilt=&pFilt=FA|SI|FC|CU|SL|CS|KN|CH|FS|SB&pFilt=FA|SI|FC|CU|SL|CS|KN|CH|FS|SB&time=month&minmax=ci&var=pcount&s_type=2&startDate=04/29/2016&endDate=05/16/2016

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 Storens velocity is down across the board though so at this point his past career numbers are irrelevant. Not sure what the insult and anger is all about. Likely something to do with you being an obtuse moron.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 The sad thing is, casual fans will blame this season on Shapiro if things go poorly, even though it's AA's roster with AA's manager/pitching coach/hitting coach and AA's fingerprints all over it. The fact that people acted like he was a God when he left still embarrasses me as a fan. Toronto fans are so thirsty they were blinded by what could be a one off playoff run. As long as Rogers keeps Shapiro in charge for the next decade, i'm cool with the casuals hating him for now.

No, this is all on the players.
nextyear Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I really hope that Travis' return means I've seen the last of Ryan Goins on my TV. I have lost faith in Ryan Goins' ability to correct his batting style. I thought Ryan Goins had turned a corner in the second half of 2015, but he has gone back to his old looping bat swing instead of swinging on a plane through the pitch (the way that the good hitters do). It looks like he is trying to golf most pitches and it results in weak popups instead of line drives. I am no longer a Ryan Goins apologist, he can't correct his swing so it is time for him to consider getting out of baseball and doing something useful with his life. I am now rooting for Darwin Barney and Devon Travis.
puphood Verified Member Posted May 18, 2016 Posted May 18, 2016 I am more interested why these guys are underperforming not affixing blame. Is it that they over performed last season, PED's allegations, making no effort to sign established team stars, min. effort to sign new talent? Just saying this amount of poor performance by a majority of established players has to be in response to something. This is a player issue brought on by something........
