intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 I think Chavez has generally been pretty good but he's given up two massive inopportune home runs and it's colouring people's view of his performance so far. (Brock Holt grand slam, Desmond 3-run HR)

(Brock Holt grand slam, Desmond 3-run HR) 5 BBs +1HBP and 5 SO vs Lefties isn't encouraging either. With Cecil hurt the pen really needs someone other than Girado to get Lefties out.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 Them situation sucks. The guys they counted on the be the 7th and 8th inning guys have stunk to high heaven and injuries have taken pretty much every semi-reliable (using the term loosely) lefty on the shelf. Couple that with atrocious depth and here we are. Limp dicks all around.
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 The problem is that we have terrible depth in LH bullpen arms. If we had someone reliable to bring in to face LHB I think the situation would clear up a lot.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 can it get worse or are we already at "rock meet bottom?"
TheGrandslamMan Verified Member Posted May 17, 2016 Author Posted May 17, 2016 I'm on the boat that keeps Sanchez in the rotation. The kids taken a leap forward this year and looks like he can be a big part of the rotation going forward. The kid has great ability. Maybe Hutch could be transitioned into a relief role. Worth giving it a shot and he'd probably prefer that over being in AAA.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 I believe this is the beginning of the end of the beginning of hitting rock bottom I think it's more halfway to the middle-ish of the beginning of the end of the beginning of hitting rock bottom, but I can respect an alternative viewpoint.

Then things kinda fell apart in 1994 Jays fans old enough to know the expansion years know this all too well. All I have to say is the words Joey McLaughlin and that makes 50-something Jays fans go all sorts of crazy
