Lewis' nine home runs allowed this season are tied for the second most in the American League. Toronto generates most of its offense via the long ball, but the club managed just one homer and three runs during Lewis' recent start in Toronto on May 4. Lewis will look to do something similar this time around. He is 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in his last three starts and he has gone seven innings in each of those outings. In Toronto, he carried a 3-1 lead into the sixth until a two-run shot by Edwin Encarnacion left him with a no-decision. "It's a lineup that likes to hit home runs, so you try to keep it out of their sweet spot and try to get them out," said Lewis, who is 3-6 with a 6.60 ERA in 12 career appearances against the Blue Jays. Toronto will counter with right-hander Marco Estrada, who allowed one run over six innings against the Rangers on May 3. He has allowed three runs or fewer in all but one of his six starts this season and enters this outing with a very respectable 2.39 ERA. Three things to know about this game • Ian Desmond, Elvis Andrus, Prince Fielder and Adrian Beltre are a combined 5- for-42 in the regular and postseason against Estrada. • The Rangers have Ryan Rua and Drew Stubbs as their lineup options in left field. Stubbs is 1-for-15 career against Estrada. Rua has never faced him. • Russell Martin will be back behind the plate for the Blue Jays. He had Friday off with knuckeballer R.A. Dickey working with personal catcher Josh Thole. Martin is 1-for-5 with two walks in his career against Lewis. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/20160513177987254?game_pk=447420 http://www.much.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Gif-5.gif LET'S GO BLUE JAYS! thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Hope Estrada pulls out a performance like he did in G3. Smoak mashing off Lewis bodes well considering his current hot streak.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Hope Estrada pulls out a performance like he did in G3. Smoak mashing off Lewis bodes well considering his current hot streak. I hope we win 14 -10 with Estrada giving up all 10 in 2 innngs with no Ks and like 6 walks. But that's just my h2h fantasy league talking....I'd rather see estrada actually pitch a good game
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 I want partial credit if they win. I also give Dylan zero blame upon a loss
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Hopefully Tulo puts a string of good games together at the plate starting yesterday.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 On paper it's a great matchup for the Jays. They should tee off on a guy like Lewis but... then their last game against him happened and they were useless. They just need to put swings on his crappy fastball when it comes and lay off the offspeed and they should be fine. Easier said than done of course.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Estrada has been a lot of fun to watch this year, seems like hes going for more strikeouts with the risk of giving up a few more walks.
West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Lets go Blue Jays! Got a little money riding on this after the White Sox couldn't score for the life of them today.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Can you believe this is Bautista's 1000th game tonight with the Blue Jays And to think we got him for Robinzon Diaz (who flamed out badly).. and JP Riccardi wanted him for OF, 1B, 2B, 3B.. and was only expecting 15-20 HR.. who knew he'd become one of the elite players in the game? Oh, and that video of the Rogers Centre in 2009-2012.. the field looked awful then! Makes me appreciate the dirt infield we have now..

Also forgot the dugouts didn't have the mesh protection for the players on the bench.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Carrera in CF? Ugh. Wish we could have Pompey up
