fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 1-0 early, Bautista thrown out at 3rd I didn't see was it bonehead or close?
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Ridiculous move by Bautista, then makes Gibby burn a challenge because how do you reject your superstar. Ugh. Exactly, Joey was so selfish here lol
KinofChaos Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Close or not Bautista needs to be smarter, thats a big out there.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 1-0 early, Bautista thrown out at 3rd I didn't see was it bonehead or close? Close and he looked safe
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Ridiculous move by Bautista, then makes Gibby burn a challenge because how do you reject your superstar. Ugh. Have we won a change this year?
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Meatball Eddie... Relax its David Price and he literally made up our entire offense yesterday.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 It was a legit challenge. There was a chance it would get overturned. "Burning challenges" isn't really a thing. You might not get a closer play all game. Plus that could have lead to a big inning if he was called safe

polar bear Verified Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Bautista is awesome but he is one of the worst baserunners i've seen. Clearly out,Bautista being Bautista running bases, fecken stupid.

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Pretty sure that was a cutter for strike 3 and not a fastball

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 3 up 3 down for Estrada. And as for Bautista--he really should've stayed at 2nd. What was he thinking?
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Wonder if we will try and get more of our young pitchers to start throwing changeups
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 3 up 3 down for Estrada. And as for Bautista--he really should've stayed at 2nd. What was he thinking? Really tough hitting conditions against a really good pitcher. It was a poor decision in hindsight that was almost bailed out by a great slide, but I'm not sure the thought process was wrong.
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Clearly out,Bautista being Bautista running bases, fecken stupid. That's just something you have to put up with from Bautista. Every year he will have 5-10 plays on the bases that just make you shake your head and wonder wtf he was thinking. Then you look at the 40+ homers and .380 wOBA and just let it go.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Price was lucky there--if it weren't for the wind, Tulo's got a HR..

bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Bautista was an above average baserunner last year according to fangraphs BsR stat, by the way.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Fair point. I guess I just dislike that move, hardnosed though it was. Oh it was a dumb ass risk for Bautista. The marginal benefit of being on third versus second with EE at the plate didn't justify the risk of going to third but the marginal benefit of Bautista being potentially called safe versus not burning a replay challenge more than justified the challenge.
