On Twitter yesterday Barry Davis said he's only working half the Blue Jays games this season, splitting them with Hazel Mae. Has Barry been demoted? Maybe players complained and said they were sick of having to deal with him all the time. I wonder if this was Barry's choice, or whether he was demoted by Rogers? Last year I recall he worked every Jays game.

The crew that they use from year to year can be pretty fluid. I wouldn't consider it a demotion necessarily.

 

Hazel is just keeping the seat warm and squishy until Jackie Redmond gets enough reps and plastic surgeries to qualify as the token sideline female.

 

Barry was only the full time guy last year because he had the lowest Testosterone levels of all available.

I feel like if they were responding to an issue with the players, they would take him out of there altogether not have him continue to annoy them only with less frequently. That wouldn't really solve the issue if there was one. Not to say that Barry isn't annoying but I figure there's probably an entire different reason for this. Also, it's not like Hazel hasn't had her run in with the players either. She was the reporter who did the whole Travis buys a suit soft focus bit last year.

That's not what I'm saying. Last year he worked every Jays game. This year it's half. So compared to last year it'd be half the pay, right? No one suggested he got a pay raise.

Lol he didn't get fired. He's a full time Sportsnet employmee. He would be reassigned other tasks. Maybe its even a semi promotion.

I never said he was fired. Where did you see that? What other tasks has he taken on?

 

It could also be that maybe he wanted to go part-time, to spend more time with his family.

I never knew Barker played for the baycats. I googled "Kevin barker Barrie baycats" and the first search is what must have been the 'old' board and a post from The Hurl claiming a baycats player heard from Barker that Burke got fired by he's the father of Hazel Mae's kid...said this news was going public soon.
