Not directly but he said everything hinting at the idea. He said he thinks the knuckleball effects him at the plate, the pitch beats him up. And if they wanted to bring up Thole to catch Dickey he would be all for it. Than they did. Martin started catching Dickey again as the playoffs approached. This season it was clear he wasn't going to do it. Thole caught all Dickey's spring outings.

Every inning is an ordeal with Dickey. Probably the widest gap between hate-to-watch and seems-like-a-swell-guy that I can remember.
