OK so I thought some of the trade suggestions on the BJMB were a bit of a stretch. And then I saw the top thread on the Orioles Hangout:

I mean 2 years of Machado for 3 of Sale isn't out of the realm of possibility but the inclusion of Eaton is just domb. Also you'd need a third team involved, the White Sox aren't some kind of middleman service...

At least there are some there disagreeing, but then they have those that just can't see it.

 

I don't agree with you. I think this would be a great deal for both sides. We add a legitimate ace and fix two other long term problems. ChiSox get valuable assets they can build around or flip in deadline deals. Machado alone would net them three quality prospects.

That seems like going all in, win it now mode but trading for players who are about the same aggregate current value as the ones you traded. Unless you have an All Star infielder in mind that we could get on the cheap, the net result seems like a wash. Plus, I would much rather watch Manny for another year or so than Eaton.

 

I'd say this guy wouldn't exist here but then I remember a certain enlightened individual here claimed he wouldn't trade Jeff Hoffman for Mike Trout.

 

 

I understand your point about taking a risk with Machado (unless they think they can lock him up,d but I disagree that Eaton is "miles higher" than Gausman or Bundy.

I mean I don't blame them for hating Bautista, he has made Baltimore his bitch over the years. It's a stupid reason to refrain from trying to improve your ball club though.
