I know a guy who bought season tickets for 2017, just so that he could buy tickets for all the playoff games this year and sell them for 2x face value. He also plans on selling most of the 2017 tickets above face value because he doesn't want to go to more than 20 games.

Ridiculous.

I hope he has good seats because that is a plan that could backfire greatly. Next season there is going to be a ton of tickets on stubhub as alot of seasons tickets were sold and virtually noone goes to even half the games. I bought 2017 seasons tickets in the 500 lvl so I would have access to post season tickets. I will attend 20-25 games next season and will sell the rest for face. I should be able to recoup my money given they are decent seats (for 500 lvl). IF the Jays make the world series then I will have saved myself a bunch of money because I dont think anyone is getting in that building for less than $500 on the secondary market.

Anyone know if I can upgrade my season tickets to better seats (at the same pricepoint) if they become available.

I think the issue is that it's too easy to make a bucket load of money via resale.

It isnt this round though. The face value of the tickets has doubled and the secondary market hasn't increased by much at all this round. I sold mine for $275 each with face value being $250

That's dirt cheap wtf $6???

Afternoon game definitely had an effect. If the games started at 5PM EST here on television, they started at 2PM in LA. Plus its a huge stadium.

$275 USD? The problem is stubhub caters to the US market. They are listed at face value in USD in most cases, throw in the high stubhub feees and the conversion and it gets pricey.

It's only slightly bigger than Toronto, was there an ALDS on StubHub going for less than $100USD? $6 is dirt cheap loool if I find tickets for $50USD during weekday afternoons I'm calling in sick for 3 days bet

How do we read this? Is there so many that the price may plummet before game time, or is the secondary market so hot that it is driving the number of resellers?

I could see the price plummeting before game time, especially if Toronto comes back down 2-0. Happened last year vs. the Royals, where ALCS tickets weren't selling for that much higher then face value on StubHub for Game 3, and they were selling below face value for Game 4 & 5. Plus, ALCS pricing is much more expensive in comparison to the ALDS. So tough to mark up a ticket that is pretty expensive as is to the average person/fan.

If Game 4 & 5 are played in the afternoon, ticket prices will plummet big time. Likely will be able to get tickets for face, or even maybe a bit cheaper (if Toronto is losing).

Given there are 10000 tickets left, its a weekday game and then will be announcing a 4:07 start time, you will probably be good to go at $50 US a ticket, especially if you are looking for a single.

Im trying to sell my Tuesday and Wednesday game for not much more than face so I can pick up better tickets the day of the game. Nobody appears to be buying anything on stubhub right now.

I bet there are still so many Canadians who don't know they are being charged in USD when buying tickets on StubHub.

Face value for ALCS ticket are already much higher then the ALDS, so it'll be tough to make a huge profit. Saw it happen last season, which is why I avoided buying ALCS tickets for Game 4 & 5 this season and avoided buying tickets to resell. Plus, like you said the fees StubHub hits you with to resell your tickets is pretty big as well.

Good plan. I bought tickets to all ALCS games last season, and I regret spending $230 face value for my seats for Game 4 & 5 when I could have bought them between $100-150 USD. The afternoon games really kill value and it'll be even worse if the Jays are down lets say 2-1 or 3-1.

Yeah I had an extra pair for Game 3 last season and maybe only made $30-40 more on them. If a pair costs $500 face value already, its going to be hard to find people paying around $800 for those tickets. Even squeezing out $600 of someone would be tough.

Everyone seriously wants to be a scalper these days. Its not worth the aggravation or stress to unload expensive tickets I find. Tried that with the Blue Jays last postseason and the Raptors during the playoffs in May. It's not worth it. That's why I'll only buy an extra pair of tickets if its a Wildcard game or Game 7 if I plan on reselling them, because you know they'll be in high demand.

Nah I sold mine in CAD. In my section there are several tickets being sold right below face value. However its slightly above face value for buyers. Dont forget Stubhub charges 25% fee themselves (USD) and thats where a lot of the money goes

Would have liked to go to Cleveland for the first 2 games but prices are crazy, $300+ for anything half decent and Id have to buy 4 tickets.

Im in the same boat. Im going to Tuesday and Wednesday's game but need to sell Monday. Aboslutely no bites on stubhub and several tickets listed at face value and even below. I ended selling mine for $275 which was only a 10% increase on face value

I'm glad I picked up tickets from the official site. Still expensive when you do the USD/CAD conversion, though if I bought the same seats on StubHub, with fees they'd come out close to $800 USD, which is basically 1K CAD.

What seats do you have for Monday? Id consider upgrading if the price is right..

How?

Because from March to September, the one thing you can guarantee on is that there will be baseball everyday. And then October comes, and the teams dwindle down, and the games become less and less frequent. And then it is gone, taken away for 4 months.

Shut up king we're going far, and it's going to be a short winter, dummy!

I made pretty good money doing it this year but you have to buy/sell at the right time. Right after they won the ALDS in a walkoff was the time to sell ALCS tickets and you would have made decent money on them.

You do get screwed with ALCS prices though as they're almost double ALDS. If it ever got to WS though you could sell your tickets and they would basically pay for the next season.

Have you guys have sat in row 13 of the 200 level? Just wondering if the overhang cuts off your view at all on fly balls. I've sat row 12 in 100 level outfield and it was horrible for that. I cant imagine it will be that bad because its elevated, but I'm sitting in 229 row 13 for game 4 and 5 so just trying to get an idea if I should try and sell, and pick up better ones on the day of the game
