Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 "but between his height and the contact on the heater, I think he's a closer or future setup man." Ya. I re-read and confirmed that I'm stupid and can't read.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 wtf is wrong with Saunders right now? Personal problems? He's not as good as his first half would indicate?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Ya. I re-read and confirmed that I'm stupid and can't read. Si, lo sabemos..... sabemos que eres un estúpido.

AdamLindsMom Verified Member Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Man, I just saw Jose Bautista's numbers on the season. Yuck. Why isn't he getting more flack? He's been awful this year and it's already August. I know he's been hurt, but damn. Enters spring training with his chest puffed out, causes a distraction for no reason by saying he wants 5/150 and that he's not budging from that number, bashes ownership, talks about how he's so great, and how he'll defy aging, etc, etc. Since then, he's played like ass offensively and defensively, gotten hurt, and became a meme for the rest of his career by being punched in the face. I wish he had a 5 WAR season this year and then rode off into the sunset, but he almost had this coming by the way he acted in Feb/March. Is there anything in his offensive numbers that really stands out? Scanning through his fangraphs page everything other than his k rate being up a hair seems pretty similar to last year.
bones10 Old-Timey Member Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 The Rays may very well give us a run for our money in this series with the way our bats are performing recently.

Odorizzi hasnt given up a run in his last 3 starts (20.2 IP) We need to win at least 2/3, I hope the bats are going to return tonight.

He better turn this around in the next 51 games. Whats the value of a 36 y/o DH with a 1.0 WAR and 113 WRC+

fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I just saw Ken Ried point something cool out, since the Rays swept us we've been 45-26, which is a major league best record.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 A's beat the O's in the late game. Yes yes Back tied for 1st place baby!!!
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I hope Today's lineup can look like: Travis Donaldson Bautista Edwin Tulo Saunders Martin Smoak Upton Donaldson should be a cornerstone in that 2 hole, I don't like Bautista being up there, he's been hitting the ball hard but Donaldson's been getting on base more

Use Smoak off the bench vs RH reliever if needed.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Agreed we need to go back to Donaldson in the 2 hole
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Any dream lineup should not have Upton in it lol. We can only work with what we got though and vs LHP he'd still be the better choice over Smoak, Barney or Ceciliani in the line up and a better choice over Bautista or Saunders in the OF.
puphood Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Another lefty up today for the O's. please put EE in on first. My thoughts on Batista is he should be DHing as I don't see his throwing in from RF as being nearly as strong as last year besides generally below average fielding.......Smoak to the bench.......

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Any dream lineup should not have Upton in it lol. Defense is a thing. I will take the defense when there isnt a significant upgrade with the bat.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Really Bautista should go hit 4th. We need Travis Donaldson and Edwin bunched together
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 This whole 6 man rotation is dumb as f*** too all to save Sanchez two starts. Just put Liriano as a pen lefty and have him spot start for Sanchez whenever possible So dumb

Yeah vs Lefties but he shouldn't start vs Righties. He's been just god awful so far. Negative 0.5 WAR in a couple weeks.
Governator Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Yeah vs Lefties but he shouldn't start vs Righties. He's been just god awful so far. Negative 0.5 WAR in a couple weeks. Well we were discussing about today's ideal line up which is against a lefty, otherwise yea I don't think he should be in the line up vs RHP at all right now.
puphood Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 We're playing the Rays. I know Snell is a Lefty ....
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Sportsnet Stats #BlueJays Through 114 Games: 2015 - 62-52, 154 HR & 3.80 ERA 2016 - 64-50, 160 HR & 3.79 ERA
puphood Verified Member Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I think everyone can agree that Smoak sits out. For me its not ideal but Upton or Barnes in the field and Batista DH......
