West Texas Forever Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 517, I think. As mentioned, I like first base side. It's a good view, especially if you're within the first ten-ish rows, which I definitely prefer. Yeah for sure, you must of been toasty up there that day, worst is sunburn on ears or your knees.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 For sure behind home plate has a great view all the way up. 200 3rd base line is just a great view as well and pretty much the only shady spot all game. Lots of foul balls and as mentioned quick to get in and out. I've also sat front row 200 in that section several times and enjoyed those games the most in terms of comfort (tons of foot room too). I can't stand level 100 on either side, though I've never had first 5 rows. It's a hot sweaty mess and as a shorter person there's always someone blocking my view and getting in and out is annoying. Yeah both games in the 100/3rd base side were spent in sunlight with limited leg space sounds about right! I'll give 3rd base 200 a shot though, love the quick entry and exit idea too lol 500 is a pain in the ass from gate 6 up the ramps That's the spirit, to this day I haven't seen the finale Donaldson ground out in Game 6, I turned off the TV as soon as it left the bat and rolled to 3rd. Jays should have won that game and Stro vs Wiggle Butt in game 7 would have been a Jays win and the Mets sucked, Jays would have won it I think last year if they got to game 7. This year will be better! Man I still can't believe Donaldson couldn't drive em in. Oh well we were that close and we really haven't skipped a beat. Let's hope our fortunes turn around!
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I've sat in every corner of the stadium, 3rd base side, 2nd deck are the money seats imo as well. Same as 1B side but the shade makes a big difference. Only thing I don't like is going there with my kids because they complain about having to walk around the stadium to the gates / seats lol. I'm in your camp on this one - all the way down to how it's a pain to have to walk to the other side of the dome to enter...haha

As for the 200 3rd base side enter into Gate 11 and the walk up is easy and drops you off right there basically it is pretty great. Not sure if you're a drinker but I find the beer lines there not as bad and in general just less foot traffic with the Jays shop on the 1st level and all, it's bliss up there.

eastcoastjaysfan Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Can someone please tell me if Danny Barnes is good. His peripherals over his minor league career are incredible. He's gotta be the next pen callup right?

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Is Devon Travis hurt? He's sitting two days in a row

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 More like Gibby thinks Smoak is an MLB hitter travis plays second. Smoak has nothing to do with this. Barney shouldn't play over a healthy Travis. Maybe they're working on something or he's hurt. If it's the latter then they should tell us

Would be helpful to give Donaldson some time at DH to keep him fresh and Tulo as well. Gibby won't do it though.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Has there been any updates on Bautista ? Out of the boot, seems hopeful for end of the month return is what I read but that timeline seemed very speculative. Gibby is sandbagging on his return I'm guessing. I bet he is DH'ing by the 20th. What does Dr. Spanky predict?

nextyear Verified Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Is Devon Travis hurt? He's sitting two days in a row Gibbons has said in the past that he will go with the hot hitters and lately Darwin Barney has been getting more hits that Devon Travis http://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=2430&position=2B http://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=13862&position=2B Devon Travis has shown that he is an excellent hitter though, so maybe a couple of games off will actually be good for him - he will be well rested in the next game. Surprisingly Devon Travis isn't playing tonight either.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Whats the reason for the love affair some have with Jay Bruce? 120 wRC+ and 0.0 WAR in his best season since 2012 so far.
nextyear Verified Member Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 Smoak again? Wtf. I guess the only improvement would be to have Edwin at 1B and DH Devon Travis?

If we can get him for cheap we should do it. He's an impending free agent with millions owed to him right? He should be cheap to get. Positive is that he won't be an everyday player but a platoon player. He's worth a shot given we've been having Lake and other AAAA OFers rotating. What everyone feeling about Colabello? He's set to come off the suspension this month and will be given a shot given Smoak's crappyness, y'all think he'll go back to his lucky success or is the Cola from ST the real Cola we'll see?

It seems like the grass is always greener elsewhere, players aren't hated until they become Blue Jays and then don't post 150 wRC+ and excel on defense.

But even if Colabello can perform at his 2015 level without PED's (assuming that he really did take them) then he won't be eligible for the post season.

That isn't a problem, let's get there first and we'll figure it out when the post season comes around. It's not like we're getting any trade help at 1st at the deadline
