Oh I agree, but he's stuck on the 25 man roster regardless because he's a rule 5 which is all I meant by here's here for the year.

wat? the Jays can simply give him back to the Giants at any point. He isn't stuck anywhere.

How often do we win without hitting a homer?

How often do you create a thread that doesn't need to be created?

Hello, I am kind of new here and this place seem pretty intimidating. I have been a long time fan, but mostly an observer here. Posting now because I am FINALLY getting to go to a game in Toronto. I have never been to a Blue Jays game outside of SF or Oakland and am really looking forward to Thursday night and Friday afternoon. I haven't purchased tickets yet so......wondering what is the best way to take in a pair of games at Rogers Centre. Any info would be appreciated. I am staying at the Westin a few blocks away so transport should not be an issue. If this is the wrong thread, sorry. Ill take it elsewhere.

Im assuming your talking about June 30th and July 1st? July 1st is Canada day and is sold out. If it were me I would buy both games from Stubhub. You could try your luck with Kijiji (our version of craigslist) but you run the risk of getting ripped off. How did you become a Jays fan living in SJ? I spent 5 months in SJ about a decade ago.

Those are the two games. I plan to buy on stubhub for both games. I expect to attend Friday by myself, boss flys home Friday morning and I get to stay an extra day. The story of how I became a Blue Jays fan is kind of dorky but Ill share anyhow. I attended a bunch of Giants games as a kid but they were horrible, this was back in the day when I collected baseball cards. For some unknown reason, my Fred McGriff card was my favorite. Started following the Jays instead of the Giants. Followed them ever sense. Now that I am grown and have a family, we attend 2 of the 3 games against Oakland every year and at least one against the Giants every three years thanks to inter league play. There are plenty of tickets for Friday on Stubhub and I intend on getting there in time for the Canada Day towel give away.

The old Crimedog himself - molding the minds of children everywhere. A guy I work with love McGriff and bought an old school powder blue jersey a couple of years ago. It's awesome.

Better line up really early to get a towel! I'm going to that game, but won't be waiting in those lines.

Welcome to the board. Just don't start new threads or say dumb stuff. haha.

It seems that we have a log jam coming up with the future of our BP.

Future Pen:

1) Biagini

2) Floyd

3) Chavez

4) Grilli

5) Storen

6) Cecil

7) Morales

8) Osuna

9) Sanchez

options for AAA: Osuna, Sanchez

I'm assuming names on that list are available for trades to make room for Cecil/Morales/Sanchez. Biagini being rule 5 probably has no trade value, and we need Cecil, Osuna & Sanchez, probably Grilli too. With Morales' salary it's doubtful he's being moved either. That would leave Floyd, Chavez, Storen as trade candidates.

I guess one scenario could be to have one of Floyd or Chavez agree to go AAA to be stretched out for starting while Hutch takes Sanchez' slot. They can then swap with Hutch later or serve as a depth piece.

I'd take Morales off that list. I think Loup would be ahead of him on the depth chart. We don't even know when or if Sanchez will be moved to the pen so I'd say cross that bridge when it happens. A lot can happen in the meantime with injuries performance etc..

I'd enjoy Chavez as a starter, but would he accept an assignment to AAA? Could he refuse it? I wouldn't blame him if he did. Not sure how a AAA assignment in a walk year can affect future contracts, but it can't be a non-issue.

What are they going to do with Morales then?... He's already guaranteed now the full $2MM salary.

Random information here because I'm too lazy to write an organized response:

-Try to get lvl 200 tickets. They are much better than field infield. Preferably on the 3rd base side so the sun isn't in your eyes. They cost the same as field infield tickets and give a better view and a lot more convenient than the lvl 100 concourse clusterf***s

-You could always buy a cheap 500 ticket, line up very early and grab a seat at the Alomar bar or the flight deck. Hope you have a strong bladder

-stubhub has a '100% guarantee' but it is very expensive. You can also try kijiji or https://www.reddit.com/r/jaystickets if you want to save on fees and USD conversion

I think we need the second lefty. I think Biagini goes back to SF. I don't see anything special that would affect my decision on what is probably a "must win - go for it year".

Let him go on waivers? This team is competing for a division title, you take the best players possible and don't worry about who is making what money.

I prefer Loup as the second lefty but it seems clear they don't believe in him, heck they have Girodo up here... It seems like Morales could be the second lefty option instead, when paying $2MM you should probably at least see what he has to offer in low leverage situations. If they can move Biagini he could take his spot before trying to clear waivers. We've had practically zero results from LH relievers at this point in the season.

Morales has an extensive track record of being mediocre/bad as a reliever in the majors, after coming off an injury I don't see him suddenly becoming better. I think Loup comes back up after his 10 days of being in the minors is done. Perhaps they sent him down because his velo wasn't there.

They need to go out and get a starter if they want to contend. Bringing up Hutch is only one piece of the puzzle and I don't see anyone from this pen as being starter material. Keep Chavez and Storen in the pen as they both are now proving to be valuable pieces. Cecil this first half was terrible as last years first half. However hopefully his second half is a repeat of last years second half, if not there is another big whole and Loup ain't the answer......
