If he's under 100 pitches for the game he should be good to go. I don't care if it's the 6th inning or the 10th

It's a long season and with a four run lead combined with our solid pen, why have Stroman throw 100 pitches in his first start coming off an injury plagued season?

The point is he didn't pitch much last year and doesn't have a full season under his belt.

"Only one injury".. LOL

The point is a starting pitcher should be given the opportunity to pitch the ninth if threw 34 pitches in the previous 4 innings.

Wat..

So if his pitch count was at 75 through 4 innings and threw 34 for the next 4, he should be brought back out regardless? I know he was rolling, but you have to think long term and manage for the whole season. The fact that the game seemed to be in a position for a high percentage win and it's early in the year, a manager should carefully consider tacking on an additional 10-15 pitches on an already taxed 92 pitch arm, especially with a solid pen.

Jesus. He was under their planned pitch count for him more then likely and was rolling, so the sent him out for the ninth and yanked him when he gave up two hits. He was very clearly on a short leash. No harm no foul.

Some people just love to find fault in any situation
