gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 If he's under 100 pitches for the game he should be good to go. I don't care if it's the 6th inning or the 10th It's a long season and with a four run lead combined with our solid pen, why have Stroman throw 100 pitches in his first start coming off an injury plagued season?
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Imagine if we had Price too right now going tomorrow
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 I hope Dan Shulman is doing the home opener.

gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Nice game, so nice to have the Blue Jays back. I'm already dreading this Thursday.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 here's what Stroman said: https://streamable.com/43lo
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Light it up! 1 of 162 http://i.imgur.com/YW5cUOU.gif How ready were you for that! Awesome. Gov, you are on pace for a 3402 "thanks" season with that classic .gif
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 It was one injury and it was a knee, that's why The point is he didn't pitch much last year and doesn't have a full season under his belt. "Only one injury".. LOL
Pinkfloid Verified Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Team only on pace for 810 runs this year...
Rusty_Savage Verified Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 The point is he didn't pitch much last year and doesn't have a full season under his belt. "Only one injury".. LOL The point is a starting pitcher should be given the opportunity to pitch the ninth if threw 34 pitches in the previous 4 innings.
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 Team only on pace for 810 runs this year... Always next year.

Wat.. So if his pitch count was at 75 through 4 innings and threw 34 for the next 4, he should be brought back out regardless? I know he was rolling, but you have to think long term and manage for the whole season. The fact that the game seemed to be in a position for a high percentage win and it's early in the year, a manager should carefully consider tacking on an additional 10-15 pitches on an already taxed 92 pitch arm, especially with a solid pen.

Jesus. He was under their planned pitch count for him more then likely and was rolling, so the sent him out for the ninth and yanked him when he gave up two hits. He was very clearly on a short leash. No harm no foul. Some people just love to find fault in any situation
