I imagine people will say "well this is stupid and confusing" and then forget about it / drink the Bruce kool-aid.

The thing with Bruce is that he was so good in 2010 and 2013 that you know the ability is still in there. Plus it's not like he's 35. But that hope thing gets a lot of teams in trouble.

plus it was mentioned earlier. Before davis went to A's, they were involved in same 3-way deal where it saw the A's give up a "B" prospect. Based on that i dont think jays are giving up anybody besides saunders.

Except there isn't any trouble here. There's no way Shapiro is taking on his whole contract, and if a prospect needs to go back, it will be someone like Fields. Team option in 2017.

Perhaps the Jays are banking on Bruce rebounding big? He had the highest Hard% last year over the past 3 years and his Z-Contact% and Contact% have all been uptrending over the past 3 years as well. His Swing% hasn't changed that much. Mind you there are still a lot of other red flags and I know there could be more involved in the trade.
