Sources: Blue Jays, Reds and A's were talking three-team deal that would've sent Jay Bruce to Jays. Not anymore but Toronto still wants him.

Replace a 5 WAR guy with a 0 WAR guy. Yeah, that'll be conducive towards building a long term winner. Better off letting Jose walk and replacing him with a minimum wage scrub than doing this.

I wouldn't hate adding Bruce if were getting him at a discounted price. What do the Reds honestly expect to get for him even if they ate significant salary. Maybe the Blue Jays feel they can fix him otherwise this doesn't make much sense. Especially with our new regime.

Only way I see him being traded is if Cincinnati eats a ton of salary. And I can't see them doing that unless they got good prospects back which the Blue Jays wouldn't trade and the Angels don't have

Cincinatti should eat some of his money unless they plan on getting almost nothing in return, Bautista isn't getting any younger. I know I wouldn't wanna pay him north of 20 million for his 37-40 years. Plus a change of scenery would do Bruce good I think. I know everyone hates him but I think he has more upside than people think.

This club really has no direction if they plan on trading for Jay Bruce. They need to focus on high upside prospects to replace guys like EE/JB, not expensive high risk projects like Bruce who most likely when you factor in his salary, is a very expensive player who is going to just take up playing time and not produce.

Agreed lots of upside with Bruce. Jays hitting coaches are very good at turning guys around.

If Saunders is the only significant piece going back with reds eating a huge chunk of his contract I'm not going to complain. Saunders knee is f***ed. I feel terrible for that guy.
