BTS Community Moderator Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 LAA behind Colorado is egregious. I stopped reading there.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 It was OK until the top 10. I think the Dodgers are much better than he gave them credit for and he's overrating the White Sox.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Cubs are just straight ridiculous from top to bottom. It's going to be very hard over the next six years to prevent them from winning more than one World Series.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 LAA behind Colorado is egregious. I stopped reading there. It's really not. Richards is alright but after him it's a pile of complete trash. E: yes, BTS fantasy stalwart Shoemaker is traaash.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 It's really not. Richards is alright but after him it's a pile of complete trash. The two rotations combined are Richards and a bunch of garbage. You can't really argue that Colorado's garbage is better than LA's by enough to make their rotation better overall.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Heaney isn't trash b/c I own him in fantasy. duh

I'd probably give them the slight edge.

BTS Community Moderator Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 Is Shoemaker a BTS fantasy stalwart? He's my 5th starter in one 30-team league.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 I'm pretty sure its a board meme at this point, so well done.
Laika Community Moderator Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 De La Rosa is alright and Lyles/Gray/Bettis are interesting. I'd probably give them the slight edge. I think it really depends on how many starts Weaver and Santiago make, because they are nearly replacement level and have seniority. If you pencil them in for 60 starts combined, then give me the Rockies.  But I'd take Richards/Wilson/Heaney/Shoemaker/Skaggs/Tropeano over the Rockies top six. That ^ is basically as good as Toronto's rotation.
z3r0s Old-Timey Member Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 I cringe to bring this up with Boxy lurking (yes I own him :'() but is Santiago a FIP buster?  3.55 ERA vs 4.54 FIP and 4.71 xFIP. The numbers look pretty ugly. Always gives up his HR's, doesn't get GB outs, doesn't limit walks, but its over 533 innings. I've never really watched him pitch to give it the old 'eye test'.

I've never really watched him pitch to give it the old 'eye test'. In terms of avoiding vertical drop on his fastball (creating the rising FB mirage), he has that skill but it's not exactly extreme. Personally I think it's mostly luck, but that's just an educated guess.  I've looked into him before and watched highlights and stuff and I just don't buy it. There's some LOB% luck going on too, maybe.
