Encarnacion is a notorious slow starter, I doubt he will be ready for opening day. Sure he can stand and swing but his timing will be so off I wouldn't expect anything resembling vintage Edwin until mid May, possibly June.

His only good april was in 2012

Him and Bautista have both been really slow out of the gate the last several seasons have they not? Maybe they need more at bats in ST.

DUNEDIN, Fla. -- Troy Tulowitzki and the Blue Jays appear to have avoided a potential disaster, as the star shortstop arrived to the field Thursday morning feeling "great" despite getting hit on the hand the day before.

Tulowitzki was struck on the right hand by a fastball from Bartolo Colon during a 3-1 victory over the Mets on Wednesday afternoon. X-rays were negative and he was diagnosed with a bone bruise between the first and second knuckles of his hand.

The 31-year-old Tulowitzki is currently listed as day to day and will not be in jeopardy of missing the start of the season, but for a brief period of time on Wednesday, there were concerns about something far more serious.

"Luckily, everything is OK," Tulowitzki told reporters Thursday morning. "I feel great today. I think the plan is take today off and then tomorrow get back into the cage, see how it feels and then play."

I'm juvenile, so I looked for this basic instinct moment that was discussed previously. It's pretty weak (45 second mark)

You tried to pause it, don't lie.

Do Barry and Wilner know they are the laughing stock of the team and entire fanbase?

I doubt they care. They are getting paid to talk about Baseball which is a lot better than what most people do.

Apparently not.

I wonder how much they get paid. My guess is around 75k.

That's really not enough money to be a national laughingstock.

Probably around that area maybe a little less. You also have to remember Rogers covers the travel cost and a lot of other things they have to do during the season. So they also aren't spending a ton of money which makes it even more all things considered. Barry Davis has been hated for a long time. I remember when Raptors players didn't even want to answer questions by him. He just keeps getting awkwardky promoted. Atleast Wilner has been mostly stationary on the fan. They only use him on TV stuff when they can't find anyone else.

Then add the free meals, hotels, flights, front row Jays games, clubhouse access. I wouldn't mind being a laughing stock.

Travelling for 6 months wouldn't really do it for me. And being the goober on the team flight with a bunch of professional athletes sounds unpleasant.

You also get to live in Florida for a month.

I would love to do that job. Like John and Gov mentioned you get everything covered and even though you work tons of hours in the summer you get 2 or 3 months off. If you were good at your job unlike Barry and Hazel you wouldn't be a laughing stock among players either.

Those guys aren't even on the team flights, only the broadcasters. Barry and the writers fly commercial (which is much worse than flying with the team).

That close-up of his face when he says: "No. You can't swing.". Priceless.

He has a girlfriend and I don't see him as the cheating type.

And who saw Reyes as a wife beater?

The best was when Pillar told Barry Davis to "Beat it Barry!". Pillar looked pissed off to when he said it.
