He was the Director, International Scouting for the Texas Rangers.

The Blue Jays are adding another experienced voice to their front office.

Gil Kim, a veteran of the Texas Rangers' front office in recent seasons, was hired Wednesday by Toronto to be the Blue Jays' director of player development. The 34-year-old Kim spent seven seasons with the Rangers and was most recently employed as the team's director of international scouting.

Kim, a native of Potsville, Pa., played college baseball for Vanderbilt University and went on to an international career that saw him play in the Netherlands, China, Australia, Spain and Venezuela. Kim will oversee Toronto's player development leaders and staff in his new assignment.

What is odd about it? There was no official Blue Jays writeup when I was writing the thread so I used a clipping from his promotion with the Rangers to note his baseball history.

Using an old write up from when he was with another team to announce his signing with a new team with no explanation why you're using an old news clipping is odd. If you had of just explained that then it would have made sense, when I opened the the thread I thought you must have copy/pasted the wrong news clipping.

The first line said "he was the Director, International Scouting with the Rangers" ... I mean, with respect to the thread title, what the f*** is there to be confused about?

The fact that you didn't list any kind of source for your claim, then cited an article about something completely different? We have no way of knowing if you are full of s*** or not, since your only source is completely irrelevant...

This is basically what you did:

Congratulation to Boxy for his new job!!

What the f*** is the point of paying an international scout when every relevant international players signs with the Dodgers?

Tons of 100K dollars kid with great talent. Gil Kim, alias Boxy, could find 3 or 4 guys like this by year.

Thanks to Phil Bickford and International Scouting we have Troy Tulowitzki. How's that for a stretch. Bickford doesn't sign, so we get an extra pick and are able to take risk/reward pick of Hoffman. Tinoco/Castro some of those 100K signee's Ang's talking about.

Does anyone else think Ramon Pena is also coming here to head up our Latin Operations?

Next time I'll draw a picture for the board retards who can't put two and two together. The f***ing title of the thread alone tells you everything you need to know you dipshit.

Do you need me to hold your cock the next time you go take a piss too? If you seriously got "confused" by this thread, then God bless your soul.

Gil Kim hired as Director, Player Development (new position)

Nothing wrong with this hire - Aligns with Shapiro's strategy of getting smart, young people into the FO.

Are we assuming hes smart becaue hes asian?

The first thing I thought of from this thread title was Gail Kim, the woman wrestler from the WWE around 2000 that couldn't wrestle but was hot as f***. She single-handedly turned my opinion on Asian women from "meh" to "yummy-yum yum yum". Then I had to go look up sexy pics of Gail Kim. Then I had to go look up some Asian porn to finish myself off.

So yeah...uh...thanks for this thread.

why do you assume he's smart...racist!

I love that he played in so many countries (China, Spain, Venezuela, Netherlands and Australia), traditional markets are being mined dry...guys like Kepler and Gasparini are still oddities but I think Europe will produce 1 or 2 legit prospects every few years.

Agreed.

But not racist to assume all asians are bad drivers. That's a fact.
