gbill2004 Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Per Jon Heyman: Revere for storen about to go down, MLB source says
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 The Washington Nationals are reportedly close to trading right-handed reliever Drew Storen to the Toronto Blue Jays for outfielder Ben Revere, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Heyman Revere for storen is agreed upon
Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 (edited) Storen is a nice reliever. We can use him as the closer. Just no Saunders in LF please hes not reliable. Edited January 9, 2016 by Jonn
jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I like this. Storen is solid
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Author Posted January 9, 2016 Any years of control? Only one, but Revere suxx Tulo leadoff hitter
2lowitzki Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Sorry for blaming and criticizing Shapiro and Atkins... I really think this is a great deal
baseballsss Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Would have rather traded Revere for someone making much less money but this is generally what I wanted all off-season. In the short-term it helps our bullpen but the main thing is that Pompey gets to play and he has a way bigger future than Revere and is a really underrated part of this team right now. He could be another potentially high calibre, cost-controlled player. It was so puzzling to see people ok with Revere taking his ABs when Revere added so little WAR to our team last year. People were okay with it because Pompey wasn't ready for the show and needed more time in AAA
JaysRap Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Like Storen. Don't like losing Revere but understand because of the $ involved.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I can get used to these kind of deals.

Yeah I get what you're saying but it's pretty clear with the reliever market being what it is that someone good and cheap wasn't coming back. I'll settle for someone who is really f***ing good.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Revere was expandible You have to stay off the nerve tonic. http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/simpsons/images/b/be/HatB_-_Ken_Griffey_Jr
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Thought exercise... What would Revere fetch as a FA on the open market?
GoldBull Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Good move. Should make us a bit better. Hopefully this means that they're confident that Saunders will be healthy (though I'm not holding my breath). It'd be nice to see them put Osuna back as a SP in AAA, given the additional arm.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Thought exercise... What would Revere fetch as a FA on the open market? 3/25? Maybe a bit high
GoldBull Verified Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Thought exercise... What would Revere fetch as a FA on the open market? Similar to what Span just got?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 3/25? Maybe a bit high Derp... I meant to ask about Storen.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Seems like a good move, hopefully Pompey is ready to play every day. Revere was expandible We all are.
