The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Question about the farm expansion... We're already at 14, are we just increasing by 1 to 15? Or increasing by 3 to 17? Poll said going from 12 to 15. The old MiLB rosters were 12. When we came over to fantrax the 2 N/A slots on yahoo were just turned over into minor spots on fantrax.

We’re at 14 because owners had the option to go 18 MLB and 14 MiLB at the preseason cut. We’ve always cut down to 12 at the mid season MiLB draft. This year we’re going up to 15 instead.

Are we allowed to change the number of MiLB spots part way though the active season?

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Did Spittin just get the boot from the league he started? Lol

BTS Community Moderator Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Also, I'm truly sorry Spanky. Please find it in your heart to forgive me.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Sorry Spank. I'll put this all on BTS. With that said. Everyone is available at the moment for trade. Undecided if gonna do a full tear down or just partial.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2020 Posted July 3, 2020 Spidy sense tells me the Booze Hounds have divorced, and TCA has relocated to Spittin's old place?

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 4, 2020 Posted July 4, 2020 Damn, jaysblue having a rough day, lost Freeman and Nola to Covid and Price to opting out on the year.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 I'm starting to think we should remove the IL limit.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 (edited) I'm starting to think we should remove the IL limit. As long as people use it for Covid issues, don't see why not. Lemahieu and Cessa are out due to covid, f***. Edited July 5, 2020 by Spanky99
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 (edited) Here are the the red flag considerations as best as I can tell: - Red flags don't count towards your roster limit but we currently have 5 red flag spots available. - I'm concerned that teams will have enough injured players that not all of them will fit on their IL (including covid cases and people opting out due to covid concerns). - In LoD we have unlimited ILs, but we also don't allow adds of injured players. BORED isn't a paid league, so we can't prevent injured player adds. - Once a an injured player is no longer red-flagged, the owners roster is immediately illegal and they can't even move players around in their lineup. - I count 30 injured unowned guys, all of them shitbags. I'm proposing that we scrap the IL limit as a trial run. A few idiots will rush to pick up a bunch of red flag shitbags from FA, so we'd waive all FA's for 3 days before the change. Re-visit in the offseason to see if we want to go back to an IL limit. I don't think it's a major change, so I'll only put it to the vote if opinions seem split in response to this post. Well, I'm for it as it looks like I've lost Pham and Lemahieu in the last 36 hours.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 5, 2020 Posted July 5, 2020 Sure, unlimited IL for this year only, maybe at the time of the 2021 NPD revert back to 5

BTS, Good morning So, where are we on this good idea? Also, as discussed in the General Blue Jays Thread-- There appear to be a lot of players that are not in camp, are suspected to have COVID but due to privacy issues have not been announced and are not red flagged..? If they are not in camp they will apparently not be ready for the season. To give you two examples specifically, look at Jose Urquidy and Adam Haseley among others.. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 I've waived all free agents and removed the cap on IL size. I don't expect many claims given that nobody had maxed out their IL yet anyway. I also e-mailed Fantrax asking how they're going to be treating players who opt-out. Hopefully it's by giving them red flags.

BTS Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Players who opt out have red flags, just look at Joe Ross, Zimmerman, Mike Leake, etc. I wasn't sure because Mike Leake was hurt in ST, and the Rosses probably were too. And David Price still doesn't have a flag.

In that case Ian Desmond has a red flag too. I don't know, I would be surprised if they didn't give the players opting out red flags or inactive flags. Fantrax isn't that incompetent.

I wonder if Fantrax waits from something official from the league / team before doing this and for some players that hasn't happened? It is ST2 after all.

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 6, 2020 Posted July 6, 2020 Sure during the season the teams do not hesitate to do whatever they have to do to put an injured player on IL, and Fantrax follows suit. This is not during the season, no team is in a hurry for these things.

This is not during the season, no team is in a hurry for these things. I'm not sure what you are trying to argue. Players that are testing positive have red flags - look no further than Charlie Blackmon and Tommy Pham. Some teams have already began placing players on the IR (Sano, Astudillo, Freeman etc.). Hell, Nick Markakis has a red flag already. And he opted out less than an hour ago. Stop being f***ing dense and figure it out, Jim. Fantrax has never gone by MLB rulings for issuing red flags.

Not arguing, neither of us know why Fantrax hasn't flagged Price yet. So neither of us can "figure it out". Also, no personal attacks allowed.
