I see why CD did it, roster space and weak at 1B, but I think he could've squeezed more for Deivi.

I pushed it through by the way.

Thank you.

You are partially correct, and there are also a number of other reasons I did it. If you are looking solely at Dynasty prospect rankings, both are projected to debut in 2020, Mountcastle is ranked 84, Deivi 143.

I don't go too much by that stuff when I am analyzing a player to target. However, normally the guy you are trading with takes that into account in terms of value in return.

May I ask which Dynasty prospect ranking you're using? I mean, that seems really f***ed up.

Nevermind, I found it...

Versatile defender who can play all over the diamond should make an impact in 2020.

Ryan Mountcastle has a chance to make the Opening Day roster this year unless the Orioles decide to play the service time game. No matter when he eventually finds his way to Baltimore, he is a good bet to be productive when he gets there. Drafted as a shortstop, he has bounced around a bit defensively but he would be an immediate upgrade at almost any position in the Orioles lineup. He has plenty of pull-side loft and his raw power is plus. He could provide 30 home run upside to go with a solid batting average making him a high-floor player.

For a player who could hit .300, his walk rate (4.3%) is comically bad. While this isn’t unusual in today’s game, plate discipline for a hitter that doesn’t hit 40 home runs should be better. This is why the offensive profile for Mountcastle is probably better suited for third base than it is anywhere else but I can envision a scenario where he plays all over the field. Look for Mountcastle to make his Camden Yards debut at some point in 2020 as the Orioles continue their youth movement.

Yeah, I found it.

Evan White is ranked higher than Mountcastle, has more helium and was available here for pitching also apparently. However, the CD analytics department liked Mountcastle better. at the end of the day... I guess we shall see....

Terrible f'ing list. Like, as an example, it has Orelvis higher ranked than Brendan McKay and Sixto. LOL

Says the guy who uses rankings for real life baseball and not tailored for Fantasy/Dynasty. Fantrax considers fantasy only, and this one specifically Dynasty.

Keyword Dynasty Jim.. FV.

I would abandon that list for any decisions, Connor.

No slight to Orelvis, he is a great prospect, but geez.

edit - and Ian Anderson, Skubal, and Brandon Marsh.

Yeah, it's pretty whack.

I guess you don't use and value Fantrax much. That explains why you were asking me for Biggio PLUS for Bell when Biggio is ranked higher than Bell in the top 500 MLB fantasy/dynasty players. You should have given me Bell + if I were to send Biggio. Specially since we play in a OBP league..

There is no f'ing way Biggio > Josh Bell in dynasty. Age difference, 27 to 25 is nothing. I'll take the 30 - 40 HR and RBI.

Sure, I like Mountcastle, for instance I traded Trent Grisham for him as I'm stacked in the OF in FC.

Don't be so sure, lad. Biggio will also have 1B/2B/OF

Biggio's a very good piece, I wouldn't trade him. Not for a 1B.

2B/CF possible but not enough to exceed the Bell power production.

We'll see friendo, you over-value Bell, just keep him and enjoy.

Biggio's versatility, speed and PD stats are impeccable.

Biggio will end up having OPB, slugging, SBs, Hits, and he has 30 HR potential. He is versatile and hits 2 at the moment behind Bichette.. (I think Biggio should leadoff, but anyway). If you would have said, Biggio for Bell, I still would have said no.. But that is maybe, maybe fair.. However, you said Biggio plus and that is when I metaphorically hung up the phone.

Eat a bag of dicks.

Everyone has a different valuation.

CBS dynasty has Bell at 53, Biggio at 101.

ESPN Bell @ 64, Biggio @136.

Rotoballer Bell @ 20, Biggio @ 59.

Dynastyguru Bell @ 57, Biggio @ 141.

Sporting News Bell @ 68, Biggio @ 123.

I rest my case.
