Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Yay, Dinger is weaker this year. I've coveted Reed for a long time, so this seemed like the best opportunity to acquire him. He could bust hard, but I still have Kenley and Chapman to keep me warm at night, so I can stomach the risk of giving up Osuna. I think I needed to take a risk to get my hands on a potential 1B masher, which was a real hole on my team's future depth chart. That said, Adam Greenwood has repeatedly taken me to the cleaners on fantasy trades. He stole Hader for Montas, he stole Bregman for Arcia. Kepler for DJLM seems like a pretty even deal at the moment, but otherwise, he's gotten me good.

I'm just happy that you probably got a couple games worse ROS. You're one of the teams in the mix for the last few playoff spots, so that could matter.

Yeah, Osuna is a boss with sick ratios across the board, and I don't expect Reed to steal a spot in my starting lineup from CCC or Kendrys this season, so I'm probably taking a bit of a now hit.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Kind of wish I held on to Bregman. Oh well, Choo was more of a sure thing.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Kind of wish I held on to Bregman. That makes two of us, but I still think and hope that he isn't as good as he seems in this moment.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 That makes two of us, but I still think and hope that he isn't as good as he seems in this moment. He's REALLY tearing up AAA since his promotion.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 He's REALLY tearing up AAA since his promotion. Yep, he's having an unbelievable season, I just have a hard time buying into him as a guy who is going to post .200 ISOs on a regular basis in the majors. He's a good hitter who is currently hitting like a megastar, and I'm not convinced he's that.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I felt the same way about Mookie Betts though, so clearly I don't know f***ing s***.
JG34 Verified Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Rhys Hoskins was drafted at 115 but isn't on my depth chart on the site or sheet.

Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Why were you convinced of Lindor, then? I didn't think Lindor would ever have 20 HR in a season, let alone in his first 162 games. He's better than I even expected.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 So, reminder that any cuts have to be made before the draft begins on the 18th. Picks evaporate at the start of the draft. Not sure anyone will have to make cuts though.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 So just to confirm, this is the list of picks? http://www.bjmbleagues.com/#!picks/jicli
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 So just to confirm, this is the list of picks? http://www.bjmbleagues.com/#!picks/jicli Ya mon.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 OK, cleared out like 300 messages. Should last until Monday.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 I'd like to grab another top 20 pick if anyone is selling.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Scout guns had Kopech hitting 105 mph last night. Wow.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Scout guns had Kopech hitting 105 mph last night. Wow. Is it even possible to throw a ball that hard?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Is it even possible to throw a ball that hard? Maybe for a month or two.
Dr. Dinger Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Scout guns had Kopech hitting 105 mph last night. Wow. He could be an interesting reliever between suspensions.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Is it even possible to throw a ball that hard? Pretty sure Chapman's hit it a few times.
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Chapman has thrown 105 once I believe (105.1MHP in 2010) and that's just insane.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Maybe for a month or two. Sounds right up your alley.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 The draft begins Monday, July 18th at 8AM. There will be 12-hour windows. Any cuts must be made before 8AM on Monday morning, and extra picks evaporate at the start of the draft.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 Guys, remember that time that GD decided to do the draft order on his own, and emails were not immediately sent, nearly destroying the league before it ever began, with multiple posters threatening to quit, and everyone getting mad at him and each other? All of this on Christmas Day? Truly a golden moment in league history. That's chapter 1 of the f***ing textbook gentlemen.

Still the 20 original owners, and as far as I'm aware, none considering leaving. We can still get close to DDL level.

What makes DDL special is the painstakingly perfect collection of inept baseball minds. It's like a self-help group for those who need an ego boost when they feel down about their fantasy baseball performance.
