Most pop music sucks.

I don't mind most pop music. It's basicaly a producer's medium. Who the "artist" is usually imports verly little.

Current pop music relies on beats that producers have found to please fans for the past few decades, while the failures are discarded. This is why most of it sounds similar. It's basically survival of the fittest, or musical evolution if you want to call it that. Overall, the process is interesting, but the results bore me (with few exceptions).

I don't think I could identify a single Bieber song. The perks of being old and out of touch.

Try having a Niece that was obsessed lol

There's this song where I think he just says "baby" over and over. I suspect that might be its title.

Even Taylor Swift is better

Blank Space is annoyingly catchy. It gets stuck in my head for like a week every time I hear it.

Actually, I think I've heard this. "Baby, baby, baby oooooh".

My only exposure to pop music is usually at the bar and I find that 90% them sample from 70's/80's songs, are covers of those songs, or pretty much steal the rhythm of them and in a pop beat in the background. I remember a few weeks ago there was a cover of this song and people were going on and on about how the artist was a genius. Then I told them that Hall & Oates wrote it and they neither knew who they were, nor did they believe me. Music is in a sad and unoriginal state right now, but it has always went in cycles. I hope the next golden age comes in my lifetime because I'll appreciate good music from any era. It's just harder to find sometimes.

Great, now I need to put on a Bieber playlist when I get home.

I'm not sure how I'm supposed to take this.

As an insult. It's stuff like this that led me to vote for him as the board's worst poster.

Good music isn't just found in pop music. There is electronica, jazz, minimalist, alternative rock/metal/etc., so on and so forth. The reason why we think the good music was from the 70's and 80's is because those are the ones that survived the test of time. The bad ones were forgotten.

With every Justin Bieber, there is a Daft Punk.

I wish I could have found a negative category to use on GD, but leaving North and BurlingtonBandit off my ballot just felt wrong.

I would suggest most smug, but that would have to go to Grant.
