Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 You still follow the minor leagues closely? I recall you making positive contributions in the other lists, for sure. Yep, I'm just not as active posting as before.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 People listed in the original post can send me their prospect lists via pm. Others who wish to be involved can post here and we'll consider people on a case by case basis.

Laika Community Moderator Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Yes if the mods can remove any lists until we are done it will help avoid biases and influences. This is important work and should be taken seriously, or not done at all.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 what an excellent way to discourage new posters and posters in general admin, is this really what you want?
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 what an excellent way to discourage new posters and posters in general admin, is this really what you want? He took part in this same list before, so yes. Wait until we're done or post in the prospects thread.
Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 It's very difficult to do community prospect lists because everyone just regurgitates the same information and follows the lead of two or three leading posters. There's no utility added with an open voting approach. I don't really think this approach will add much utility either but the results will be more interesting and it will generate better discussion. Don't agree when it comes to the crapshoot that is baseball prospects. Grant can attest to the crapshoot nature.... Brett Wallace, Zach Stewart The crapshoot nature of ranking prospects means closing participation to a select few is not in the admin's interest.

When we did it on the old forum, it was some of the best Jays stuff out there. The list proved to be more accurate than other publications and we provided a bunch of scouting reports. It was a lot of fun. If you think that you can contribute positively to the project, I'd welcome a list.

In my opinion, quality over quantity is a plus in this instance. As I've said, we can still do the polls. The contrast may generate discussion.
vilifyingforce Verified Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Why not do a round of public polls and when it's finished put out the researched list, could get something going with that and let's 'everybody' participate.
King Old-Timey Member Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 Why not do a round of public polls and when it's finished put out the researched list, could get something going with that and let's 'everybody' participate. Riveting idea!

Excellent. I'd like to finish getting the lists for this before the polls start though. Then we can wait until the polls are finished.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 I will try. But not only is my time not great right now, but also I think I only watched like 3 Jays affiliate games this year and about 20 in total. Good idea though
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Excellent. I'd like to finish getting the lists for this before the polls start though. Then we can wait until the polls are finished. Grant is it 15 deep? I'd assume it is, I'll send you a list wacthing the pigskin games.
Laika Community Moderator Posted December 4, 2015 Posted December 4, 2015 Grant is it 15 deep? I'd assume it is, I'll send you a list wacthing the pigskin games. Yeah, everyone should make a top 15. And then the final list will obviously be 20+ I'll try to get mine done this weekend. I need to do some research on a lot of the really young guys, especially the internationals.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted December 4, 2015 Author Posted December 4, 2015 Grant is it 15 deep? I'd assume it is, I'll send you a list wacthing the pigskin games. That's correct. I'm still working on mine too, just trying to get people into it.

Also had a lot of good decisions on guys like Norris and Musgrove, but it's amazing how things change.

His chin regressed in on itself and created a singularity, absorbing him from the Earth and erasing him from existence along all dimensions of space and time. You can say that he busted.

TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I will send my list in on Wednesday. I think the deadline should be a few days before the Baseball America Jays list comes out on December 18th.
