Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I've mentioned him in deals for Carlos Carrasco and Freddie Freeman, two of the top 30 or 40 most valuable assets in the game. The farm isn't exactly flush with the kind of talent that can be packaged for players like that. Im sure a Pompey, Alford, Goins, Tellez package almost certainly gets the conversation started.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 We're just joking because Atlanta traded their young, controllable player for s***. I really don't think Frenchsoup is kidding. I've seen enough offseasons to know how the proposals go. Ben Revere+Chris Colabello+Drew Hutchison+SRF for insert top 40 pitcher. They get back a cheap outfielder, a first basemen, a SP and a good prospect ALL for one pitcher! How could they say no? We filled all their holes.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Yes, but why give up a Stroman when A. we need him B. Atlanta would certainly take a prospect package. Atlanta would certainly take a prospect package for Freddie Freeman? And Alford, Pompey, and Sanchez is going to be the best they get offered? Teams like Boston, St. Louis, and Washington would be willing to sell the farm for a guy like that.

I've never seen any of those teams make the a "sell the farm trade"
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I've never seen any of those teams make the a "sell the farm trade" You don't think Boston or St. Louis would be all over Freddie Freeman? 26-year old franchise 1B locked up for 6 more years.

Yeah I wonder what prospects other teams would have given up for Donaldson

BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Yeah I wonder what prospects other teams would have given up for Donaldson A ton. I really hate when that gets brought up as an excuse for discussion about the merits of sending our spare parts away for an elite player.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Kind of a market value contract though I think he'd get a lot more than that entering the market at 26 years old. Probably 200+ million from Boston.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I think he'd get a lot more than that entering the market at 26 years old. Probably 200+ million from Boston. Yeah, he's worth a lot. Tell me a Boston package for Freeman then.

I really hate when that gets brought up as an excuse for discussion about the merits of sending our spare parts away for an elite player. You don't think other teams offered more for Simmons? Atlanta is just being dumb. I wouldn't put it past them to trade Freeman for less than he's worth
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 A ton. That is one of the main reasons JD even hit the market.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Is Freeman ARB eligible next season? That is one of the main reasons JD even hit the market. He's signed for 6 more years, ages 26-31.

BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Yeah, he's worth a lot. Tell me a Boston package for Freeman then. I have no idea. JBJ, Rodriguez, and a couple of guys from the farm?
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 I have no idea. JBJ, Rodriguez, and a couple of guys from the farm? Probably have to include Margot in that package.
fatcowxlive Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Wow nice trade for the Angels. No idea what the Braves are doing with their Wood and Simmons trades
Laika Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 It's insane how quickly this Braves FO is trashing that franchise. - Bad Markakis contract - Didn't get enough for Heyward - Didn't get anything good for Upton - Wanted Manny Banuelos for some reason so traded good controllable relief for him (Shreve) - Weird Kimbrel trade, obfuscated by Maybin-Upton contract swap - Wood + Peraza for Olivera and then they move Olivera to LF??? - Probably got schooled in the Johnson for Swisher and Bourn deal, but I'm too lazy to check - This Simmons trade The one good move: Getting Toussaint for free It's like their entire plan is to start over from scorched earth. John Hart and a thousand pitching prospects.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Apparently Atlanta really values power pitching prospects. Sanchez seems like a good fit for them. Sanchez, Smoak, Pompey for Freeman?
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Apparently Atlanta really values power pitching prospects. Sanchez seems like a good fit for them. Sanchez, Smoak, Pompey for Freeman? wtf
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 wtf They traded Simmons away for a shittier package than that.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 They traded Simmons away for a shittier package than that. So now we get to spend forevermore discussing s*** packages we can send them for Freeman?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 So now we get to spend forevermore discussing s*** packages we can send them for Freeman? exactly! thats the fun.
BTS Community Moderator Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 exactly! thats the fun. In that case, please carry on.

Dr Negative Verified Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 Apparently Atlanta really values power pitching prospects. Sanchez seems like a good fit for them. Sanchez, Smoak, Pompey for Freeman? I would keep Smoak around so that we could package him with Ryan Goins for Shelby Miller.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted November 13, 2015 Posted November 13, 2015 ban level post bro. Maybe stroman, sanchez, conner greene lol
