With our reported $140 million payroll, you should probably prepare yourself for minor league signings and maybe a trade or two when it's all said and done.

We should be trying to nab a bunch of fringe starters and try them from the pen.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Well, I'm glad you know the REAL reason. Who gives a s*** about championships when you can look at WAR. Yeah, because that's a very smart way to judge a trade where you acquire 2 players on a 25 man roster, one of whom wasn't very good at all.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Dickey, Thole, Goins and one of Cola or SMOAK to Pittsburgh. And one PTBNL? For Francisco, Stewart and Walker. Yes or No.... Discuss and give reasons as to why, please and thank you! Jesus Christ. I think even the mocking posts of his stupid trade proposals don't do them justice.
puphood Verified Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 looks like this bull pen is getting weaker as we go, Lowe to Detroit.......

Followthelight Verified Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I'm a little worried we're automatically making Osuna the closer again. He has the stuff to be a starter and is much more valuable in that position. Shouldn't he be getting every look to be in the rotation? Same, he has the stuff to be a starter. Problem is the bullpen is thin, paper thin.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Same, he has the stuff to be a starter. Problem is the bullpen is thin, paper thin. your avatar is creepy.
BeastMode Verified Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Same, he has the stuff to be a starter. Problem is the bullpen is thin, paper thin. Should be stretched out to be a starter, but the problem is the budget, Osuna will be wasted as our closer next season because we can't afford a decent replacement.

They never said it was the best or provided the most surplus WAR value. They said the biggest. Acquiring a player who hits a walk off World Series clinching home run is BIG.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 We may deal for relievers by shopping around Revere and Colabello, but I don't see anything beyond that.
