thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 So much dumn Pros are pros, vice versa How many umps have been criticized for turning it into an "umpshow" though? Seeing as that seems to occur regularly, pretty sure they are capable of vindictiveness at times, especially when things like arguing balls and strikes and walking down towards 1st base on an assumed BB occurs.

37stieb Verified Member Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 the chances of him getting ejected are limited... bitching about pitches even though he is probably right gets us more bad calls. a lot of umpires are vindictive and umpires have a swarm mentality. how many calls do we get against us because umps hate Jose? the whole team pays for his whining. You are so right. Your point confirmed during the Brett Lawrie ejection.
Mac Outlaw Verified Member Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Seriously, f*** Halladay. Guy asks for a trade out of town and practically walks on water with the fans. No one else gets that kind of pass from Toronto fans. f*** that guy. Bottom of my list. Halladay just wanted to win and that wasn't going to happen here. He gave us the best years of his pitching career and got nothing back. I don't begrudge him for wanting to leave. The tragedy was getting back a bunch of junk in that trade. Hopefully Travis amounts to something though.
Spoonovic Verified Member Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Steve Simmons worte this? Wasnt he the guy that Bautista owned on twitter a couple years ago after Simmons called out Bautista for being upset that the Jays didnt make any moves at the deadlines just like KC? EDIT: Yes it is http://www.bluebirdbanter.com/2014/10/1/6877119/jose-bautista-has-no-time-for-steve-simmons Looks like Steve Simmons is just holding a grudge.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 It's extremely difficult for Jose to be a superstar when umpires are terrible at their jobs. I do wish he'd hid his anger a tad more, but I understand his position.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Stroman>Halladay>Edwin>Wells>Donaldson>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Bautista Where does my boy Pillar land on this list? Like serious - is there anyone on the Jays more "likeable" right now? Not a chance (OK Stro and his legendary comeback is a close 2nd).

If we were ranking current Blue Jays, Pillar would be top 3. Stroman-Pillar-Osuna? In some order. I also really like Martin and Revere. And Edwin. And Hendriks. And Dickey.

Mowich Verified Member Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Stroman is probably cockier than Bautista. Bautista plays with as much passion and god forbid he f***ing cares. Baseball is hard and when you get f***ed over it sucks. Especially if you work as hard as he does. He is actually extremely humble in the assessment of himself. People build things up in their mind that actually doesn't exist. Well said, Jonn.
