Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Yeah, having Revere bunt makes little sense. Good contact hitter, should have been able to move Goins over even while trying to pull a hit. Could have been Revere doing it on his own though. Yeah that sequence didn't fit Gibby's usual MO. He's typically not bunt happy.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 That was weird, but Goins seems to kind of suck at bunting sometimes. For the record, I don't think either should've bunted.

BTS Community Moderator Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 Dyson-Rios decision just had a big impact Dyson is most likely parked under that.

BTS Community Moderator Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 I wonder if Yost sticks with Rios vs. RHP going forward. You can make a pretty convincing argument that Dyson is the best OF defender in baseball.

You can make a pretty convincing argument that Dyson is the best OF defender in baseball. They also could have played Orlando today. He actually had a better wRC+ and UZR/150 than Rios this year. I don't think I would have played Dyson for defense alone. Useless against Price.
Laika Community Moderator Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Not going to pinch hit Smoak or Navarro for Goins with the bases loaded? I guess Gibbons didn't think that the Goins-->Pennington defensive downgrade was worth the extra chance at more runs.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 Duffy and his career 4.78 xFIP vs RHH being left in to face Donaldson and the murderer's row lol.

OBPlover Verified Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Sure when you have a ridiculous Umpire with a ridiculous strike zone. I'm not saying it just for the Jays, but it looked like he blew at leasthalf a dozen strike zone calls in the last 3 innings.

I'm not saying it just for the Jays, but it looked like he blew at leasthalf a dozen strike zone calls in the last 3 innings. He's been consistently bad. In other words, he's been a s*** umpire to both teams. Yost took Ventura out at the right time. Gibbons waited until Price blew the game before he made the switch despite giving up hard contact to pretty much every batter. You can lock this thread or merge it with the Gibbons thread, because we're dealing with two imbeciles managing these games, and unfortunately, the other one is winning.
Statman Verified Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 The OP's thread is shockingly bad or as he terms it "egregious".
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 The OP's thread is shockingly bad or as he terms it "egregious". Do we have a history with a past account of yours or something? I've said plenty of dumn things, but picking on this thread is a bit of a reach.
BTS Community Moderator Posted October 17, 2015 Author Posted October 17, 2015 So apparently Yost believes Orlando is a better player than Dyson?

Statman Verified Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Or.......Ned Yosts decisions, while still having a "very small" probability of having an effect has been marvelous.
Collison Verified Member Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Would you start Dyson against a LH starter? This is a tough call for Ned. Rios has been a pretty big disappointment most of the year. However, he did have a huge hit against the Astros and delivered again today. Don't think Dyson would have gotten those hits. He can't hit. Much better fielder though. He would have caught the ball Rios missed on the dive. In the end, it didn't matter

He really hasnt been even decent since 2013. Alex Rios should not be starting for a playoff team

We thought Ned was gonna put Zobrist out there, But Infante can't hit worth a s***. Dyson is by far a better defender hell so is Orlando. To be honest kinda suprised we haven't seen either of those two start yet.

Orlando is a better defender than Rios, but Dyson is about as elite as it gets. Yost doesn't seem to realize how good Dyson is.

Does it bother you that Yost is slotting your best hitter in the 8th spot, while he has that OBP sinkhole hitting leadoff?

Not sure unless he was thinking we might need Orlandos bat in the 9th if u guys tied it up or took the lead
TheHurl Site Manager Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 The worst manager in baseball should provide us with endless entertainment. 2. Alcides Escobar leading off in game 1. KC is now 86-52 with Alcides leading off this season. 14-17 when he's not. You can't argue with results.

That's true it's almost like its a superstitious thing lol. Also he has lead both game 1 and 2 off with a hit if I'm not mistaken. " I missed the first few innings of game 1 "
