Although I want to believe that the Blue Jays have the momentum going into game 5, such a thing doesn't seem to apply to two very good teams in the playoffs - http://m.mlb.com/news/article/154350668/richard-justice-jays-rangers-eschew-momentum

For the Blue Jays to have a good chance, Stroman will have to set them down with no runs long enough for the Blue Jays to put a couple on the board. If the Blue Jays can hold a slim lead early in the game then I think it will just be a matter of time before they break the game open. On the other hand, if the Rangers get ahead early and the Blue Jays start pushing then it will be a nerve-wracking game.

I am scared but oh so so so very excited for tomorrow. How can you not be pumped for stroman! I am getting pumped after just watching this vid

I obviously like their chances more than I did Sunday, but the one thing I'm mindful of is that it's very rare for a team to win 3 straight after losing the first two at home.

Can't wait to be there but would have been nicer had Houston not choked so we could all watch it on prime time.

Con: they're facing Cole Hamels

Hamels has been very mediocre this year. His Hr/9 is way up. He's lefty, which also favors the Jays.

Let's hope that continues and the boys come with a game plan.

Hamels is the safe call, Gallardo would have been the correct call.

Props to gibby for going with Stroman, the right call but not the safe call.

I feel we are going to take Hamels to school today. Seen him once now and faced 3 lefties in a row. I'm guessing Gallardo is pitching by the 4th inning and shuts us down after that.

Words cannot describe how excited I am.

Celebration down by the dome is going to be electric and I plan on being right in the middle of it!

Awesome

Have fun

In Vancouver today on business and will be abandoning an LNG conference to watch this game. If we lose I will try to get a good old fashioned Vancouver riot going.

Too much. Usually average 125 or more flights a year. I'd be in TOR today for it but have this in Van and a meeting in Sechelt, BC tomorrow. I'm bummed I can't be at game to celebrate with our fan base. Next round!!

Houston will be easy to get to. LOL

I have a feeling this will be a close game - like 2-1, 3-1. Hamels had his game on last time out and the errors cost him.

Same with Stroman.

Could be the battle of the bullpens again.

Key to the game.. be patient! Our entire team was too amped up in the first 2 games and had horrible at bats. Cannot let pressure get to them. If they are patient at the plate like they were in Texas we win

I'm extremely excited for today's game, wish it would start now! I feel we have a great chance to take this game.

Pillar carrying a lot of the offensive weight the first 4 games. Hope Edwin and Jose et al can also step up to do some more damage today.

The Jays don't need hitting advice from us but watching that gm in the stands it seemed Hamels got stronger later establishing his breaking stuff off the plate. Seemed to be a lot of swing and miss pitches in later innings on chase. I think what they will do is be aggressive early in the zone if they get a pitch to hit...so that he doesn't get ahead. If he does its very hard to lay off his secondary pitches. If they can lay off as they have been the last 2 games....they will own him.

This is how I feel too.

I can't even imagine being Gibby right now. The easiest thing in the world would have been to take the easy road and hold Price off to start this game. I think most people think that Stroman gives us the better chance, but to have the stones to act on that and start Stroman over the safe choice in the guy who could very well win the Cy Young is pretty amazing.

I hope Stroman brings it today, because I would love to see Gibby vindicated for a very ballsy move.

Yeah he makes questionable calls at times, but I was all for him using Price yesterday for the exact reasons he cited. The best way to hold a lead is stop a team from making it close in the first place. What happens all too often is managers (Gibby a lot of the time) take it easy with a 7 run lead watch that shrink to a 2 run lead and then try to pull out all stops.

Whether Stroman shows up or not, we need Price in the BP. Doesn't really work the other way around.
