spittin Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 no trolling here - legit question. if the Jays lose this series, is this the biggest upset for Toronto sports (on the receiving end of upsets) since 1993? i think so. I don't think so, it's not like jays won 100 games and cruised through the season, it's pretty evenly matched and will be if they continue to advance. I'd say that leafs game (I'm not from TO) where they lost to Boston was biggest upset I've seen ever.

spittin Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I'm nervous about Dickey like crazy, maybe they're trying to make magic with the Dickey effect the first few times through the order and hand the ball over to Price in the 5th. I'm **hoping** this is the case. Interesting too see Dickey, Noah and TDA in the playoffs simultaneously. If Dickey crashes hard today this will be a huge theme going into the off-season.
93 Jays Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 This offense is due for a bust out game where they score 10 plus runs. They've been right on the verge of it and I can feel it coming here in game 4. A few timely hits and a few dingers and this will be a long day for Texas pitching.

LOL at not winning 100 games..this is a totally diff game then the first half and could have easily won 100 had this roster been there day 1. This is the best team in baseball on paper, they are a lot better then this rangers team especially without beltre......it would def be an upset, the Jays should have swept this series, first 2 games were easily winnable. It's not evenly matched the Jays are better up and down then the rangers.

The question was would this be the biggest upset since 93, learn to read blue head. Also, I don't think we're clearly the best on paper. Our pitching is weaker than every other team except Texas and KC.

I know what the question is...what does that have to do with refuting your post moron? This is not an evenly matched series. s*** happens in baseball in a short series thats it. The jays have the second best ERA in baseball all second half...our pitching is as good and out offense is leagues better then anyone else in the playoffs. Price and stroman is a nasty 1-2 duo. On paper this is the most complete team in baseball. They should have won the series already, came our nervous and unfocused, it sucks but it is that it is. Best Run differential by a long shot.

You refuted my post because I said it wasn't ****THE**** biggest upset since 93. I didn't actually say it wouldn't be an upset but to say the biggest in TO sports history is an overstatement. Also, calling people names here is grounds for ban so you should tread carefully.
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 How the f*ck do you start RA over Price today? This is exactly why you rented the guy, was for this game. If we lose, Gibbons needs to be fired.

Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Zaun is such a moron..Gallardo did not dominate the Jays his last start, he struggled and got lucky through 5 only.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Harold Reynolds coming on Blue Jays Central.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 If there is such a Dickey effect why not start every game with Dickey sort of an opener instead of a closer It's not some crazy theory, it's a real thing that proves itself over and over again. http://www.breakingblue.ca/2013/11/23/the-r-a-dickey-effect/
BlueJayWay Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Beltre a late addition to the lineup.

Not even close. The Jays were favoured going in, but it wasn't an overwhelming chance for victory. I mean, if the Jays lose it'll suck but part of that will be the 22 Years crowd screaming and bitching, as if the length of a drought should in any way change the circumstances for the series. As far as I'm concerned, there are no teams in the playoffs who are clear wannabes. The parity in MLB as a whole is honestly impressive.
nextyear Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Beltre a late addition to the lineup. I wonder if Texas management is getting worried. If Beltre still has stiffness and pain in his lower back it will affect both his hitting and defense. Here is a link regarding the Beltre addition. He will be batting 3rd.
Followthelight Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I thought we had the best pitching in baseball, what's there to question? What does that have to do with not pitching a better pitcher Price over a lesser pitcher dickey? Man your dumb.
canadiansportsjunkie Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 I want to a bunt down third early if the situation fits.
spittin Verified Member Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 What does that have to do with not pitching a better pitcher Price over a lesser pitcher dickey? Man your dumb. Best pitching in baseball should have good depth, like the Cardinals. Hey man insults are not welcome here!!!
