Hitting is very difficult and some scouting and general advice (not exactly telling them what to do) should be part of any mlb team

 

That's the job of the hitting coach and if I recall correctly, he did a damn good job of it in the regular season

Okay really... Our problem is not taking walks. Getting guys to walk and putting extra pressure on the pitchers is always big for us. Now it is getting 2-0, 3-0 or 3-1 and guys all want to be heroes.

that's the point. They don't always work and they give up an out and you don't know it wasn't called from the bench. Navvy wouldn't score on bunt ...too slow.

He's a contact hitter with one of the lowest K rates. At least he puts the ball in play and gives him a chance to get on. That's his game.

I still don't understand why teams don't take advantage of the free base in first and third less than 2 out situations. They are unlikely to throw threw so you have potential hesitation. The hitter is likely to get a breaking ball. And lastly Pillar is a base stealer. That DP should have never happend.
