Santiago Espinal (kid we got for Steve Pearce) in AA:

.317/.377/.429

He had a slow start but has picked it up since. A little old (already 24) but still intriguing.

Its already been announced?

I'm antsy to get tickets (as the good ones seem to sell out soon) and looking for educated guesses. They haven't announced yet to my knowledge. At least it isn't on their site.

Edit: Actually, I'm an idiot. The roster isn't populated because the draft hasn't happened yet?

The season doesn't start for another month. Given the volatility of minor league rosters, doesn't make much sense to announce the rosters in advance.

Most importantly he’s supposedly a good infielder

Is vinny Capra anything? Holding his own in double a after an aggressive ish promotion.

It’s doubtful.. 20th round picks don’t generally turn into anything.

He’d have to be hot all season to change people’s minds, and has already started to cool off from his great start.

Andrew Sopko has been promoted to AAA Buffalo.

This makes sense. They have like six starters in NH and no good ones in Buffalo.

And Sopko is a bit older than the other guys, unless you count Murphy but he’s been on the DL so much, they probably want a bigger sample size and another healthy season in AA.

Sopko also debuted in double-A back in 2016 so it’s probably time for him to move up.

Sounds about right. I was surprised to see him jumped over Dunedin, but that might be just for roster reasons.

Small sample size, but Alejandro Kirk is still doing Alejandro Kirk things since his promotion to High-A

5 games

.389/.476/.611

Still walking more than he's striking out (3BB vs. 2K).

He's made a seamless transition so far in one of the notoriously hardest leagues to hit in.

Anthony Alford hitting .176. After seven years. When is the magic.

Can't argue when batting average is the hammer.

Blue jays need to add another dsl team.

43 international free agents signed this year. plus the 30 players

on it from last year. In long run ready help out the prospects pool.

Alford with an OPS of .847 in May. Biggio at .752.

...just pointing it out.

Biggio is still walking more than he's striking out, and his K-rate in May is actually less than what it was during April. He's hitting for a decent enough average and still has a .381 OBP in May. Only thing that's slowed down is his power surge, but that's to be expected.

What happened in Lansing today? Did Groshans have half a bat and then go out?

Looks that way, he was pencilled in, but left his last game with injury. Likely headed to the DL.

What other stat would you like to go to that would demonstrate that Alford actually hasn't sucked s***?

He's certainly no Vinnie Chulk

Josh Winckowski had himself another nice start: 7IP 5H 1ER 1BB 4K 81 pitches

Lowers his season ERA to 1.70.

He's starting to resemble TJ Zeuch an awful lot.

Yeah, hopefully he figures out a better put-away pitch to avoid that path.

Let's see. His strike outs are to high for 102 at bats (40). OBP is 263.

His SLG is 363. His stole bases for this year is 5, someone with all of

his speed should have 3 times that amount. And his OPS is 635. He should Not even be in the top 30 any more.
