Or is it cause he was the only one that would talk to you?

Regardless, if he makes the majors some day, P2F will be able to say he scooped his first pro interview and that’s neat.

Well he's the only one we asked. 1.000

Nate Pearson jumped to #16 from #29 on BA's top 100.

Bo still #5

Groshans moved up from #42 to #41

They do monthly updates now I see, cool.

Do you have to be a paid member to scroll the list or can you do that on a free account?

Its pretty impressive for the Shatkins regime, that we have two top 20 prospects, both of which they themselves drafted and developed. Before Vlad, the last top prospect we had was Snider.

I let my subscription lapse on July 2nd. I'm gonna live like the rest of you beggars for a bit and see if I can still get my BA fix.

Why doesn't Forrest Whitley fall? 12.21 ERA, 8.04 FIP in 24 innings this year.

Right, they penalize guys because of injury, and that's fine, but he's been straight ass!

It’s a fair question. Injuries aside, his triple-A performance has left much to be desired. But from what I heard from BA, they still have no doubt his stuff is ace/frontline quality. You just don’t see guys at 6-7 with 5 plus pitches with a 70 grade fastball, with 70 grade changeup and plus slider, curve, cutter.

Age is also a real thing, he’s one of the youngest pitchers in AAA.

Some of his poor outings this year attributed to just lost of composure when things didn’t go right on the mound (e.g. defense making errors behind him), needs to mature a bit more. Command also needs more polish (seems like a trend in Astros farm with all the crazy spin-rate stuff).

But seeing how guys his age are typically in A+/AA right now they’re giving him some leash.

It's interest - I'd be inclined to do the opposite. If a guy gets hurt - don't penalize him (unless you think it will affect his abilities long term). If a guy is playing - and is pure s***....maybe he's not actually as good as you once thought (recognizing that development isn't always linear).

Groshans if he stays healthy and on the path he’s started on might creep up the next year or so as well. The drafting/international signings under Shatkins have been excellent. Well, Warmoth aside, but I have faith that he will be traded for a vetrin someday.
