Ray Verified Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Another good day for Groshans: 3-for-5. He's hitting .375 now.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Kirk and Lopez had the day off. Juan De Paula had a pretty good line: 5 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 6 K, 79 pitches-46 strikes.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Also, Hagen Danner doubled today, which is notable because he has 6 hits this season - all of which have been XBH (2B, 3B, 4 HR). He struck out three times.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Former Jays Lane Thomas call up for the Cards.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Yeah I was going to post this, it's crazy. Now to cut down on those strikeouts.. He obliterated a ball yesterday. Felt like it went 450 feet.
Stoneyen Verified Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 He obliterated a ball yesterday. Felt like it went 450 feet. Vlad just obliterated another one in AAA
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Vladito is insanely difficult out, just drew another walk.
P2F Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 The cameraman s*** the bed on this one, but lawdy, lawdy, this baby is spanked.
Stoneyen Verified Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 I don’t think he can be kept down much longer
Sorrow Verified Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Yordan Alvarez over in Houston is having a hell of a start to his season. I wonder if he'll get a call this year. https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa943524&position=1B/OF
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 I don’t think he can be kept down much longer Was he DH tonight or playing 3b?
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Is it me or does Vladdy look like he might have shed a few pounds?
Barkerfan23 Verified Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Is it me or does Vladdy look like he might have shed a few pounds? He probably loses it pretty fast since most of it is fat
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Man, I really hope we have some legit pitching at AA and high A. The Bisons are scoring 8 to 6 runs a game and still losing.. Really bad record with such a great offensive line-up really scares me..as to our near term pitching options...

Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Trent Thornton is going to help Bisons' pitching the next monday. Yea, but I thought we had a log jam.. Now if Thornton is not pitching well, Aceucki on 60 day IL, SRF sucking, Richard (still hurt?) we are not so deep anymore..
glory Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 It's pretty much a given that the Jays will use openers this season, possibly a lot. Just depends on when. Injuries and ineffectiveness from their starters will speed up the process.

tercet Verified Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 His arm angles are different for fastball/non fastballs again, but his command is more of the issue lately vs better teams.
Carlos Danger Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Pannone, Gavi,? I was thinking about them, but then your robbing Peter to pay Pablo.. They have been effective out of the pen. You would also have to stretch them out...
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 I't's all m9s9 information, I was beside it, lol. You and I. Do not know!!!

Ray Verified Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 Carter Kieboom reached base 5 times in a AAA game yesterday. He's slashing .422/.536/.711 in 12 games.
BlueRocky Old-Timey Member Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 (edited) Man, I really hope we have some legit pitching at AA and high A. The Bisons are scoring 8 to 6 runs a game and still losing.. Really bad record with such a great offensive line-up really scares me..as to our near term pitching options... Rotations Bisons: SRF, Waguespack, Paulino, Morimando, Merryweather (DL), Zeuch (DL) Other arms: Barnes, Romano, Dermody, Jackson, Copping, Isaacs, Fisk Half the rotation is either DLed or called up (Thronton/Borucki/Pannone). But yes it’s not exactly a group that inspires confidence. SRF and Paulino are looking like future relievers. There’s some upside in the bullpen but who really knows. Barnes and Dermody have been called up before. Romano is a converted starter, they still might stretch him out. Fisher Cats: Murphy, Diaz, Logue, Perez, Sopko Other arms: McClelland, Snead, Tyce, Case, Fishman, Baker, Rios There’s some prospect arms at this level with potential, it’s actually a pretty stacked rotation for AA. Some flaws and upside with the names here. Perez’s control issues suggest reliever, it’s basically the SRF experiment all over again. There’s two flamethrowers in Murphy and McClelland. Diaz, Logue, Sopko are potential back end rotation arms. We’ll have a better idea at the end of the year, some pitching prospects don’t succeed their first try in AA. It’s difficult to put a schedule when they’ll come up. Dunedin: Pearson, Allgeyer, Castillo, Larkins, Buffo (DL) Other arms: Dillon, Maese Pearson needs no introduction. Castillo is really young. Larkins and Allgeyer have been solid to start the season. Buffo is on the DL. There’s some promise here, but these guys are at least 2+ years away. I’ve mentioned before that we’re thin at pitching prospects. To be more specific, we’re thin in high-end pitching talent. We’ve got a bunch of the backend rotation / possibly convert into reliever variety.. which is still nice to have considering we paid 5-10M for fifth starter material in 2017-2018. The only elite guys incubating in the farm system are Nate Pearson (A+) and maybe Eric Pardinho (A-DL). Adam Kloffenstein I have no idea, we will see. As of now, if Stroman and Sanchez leaves in free agency.. the rotation is pretty unpleasant going forward. It’s quite mandatory for the Jays to acquire some high-end pitching talent via trade deadline, or draft, during this rebuild. Unless of course they are finally willing to toss out 20M-30M contracts to premium pitchers in free agency, which Shatkins are unlikely to do. And if they’re willing to go that far, why not just sign Stroman and Sanchez? Edited April 18, 2019 by BlueRocky
