Franco turns 18 in March.

 

I don't recall ever seeing anyone that young ranked that high.

I can't even process the anger I have right now. These guys get PAID to do this. They can't recognize a good prospect for the life of them. Most of the list it seems like they just threw names on a dart board and let Mark Reynolds throw a few rounds.

Harper was probably the consensus #1 prospect at 18 years old, before any minor league at bats.

 

In terms of more general Age vs. Accomplishment, Juan Soto is one of the all time greats.

You're not wrong, but A-Rod had 9 win year in his age 20 season, which I think is comparably better. Andruw Jones at age 19 also had an insanely good year due to all-time great CF defense.

Why is Groshans higher then Biggio?

 

Groshans is a complete lottery card at this point, while Biggio has some + & - at this point we have a better idea that he probably will have some chance of a mlb career, even though he hasn't impressed me the few times I saw him vs crappy pitching.

 

Pearson's ranking seems about right, he could be top 25 mid season, or fall off the list and just be a random starter/reliever who can throw 95+ ala Jackson, Murphy, McClelland. I hope for his AFL perhips aren't for real since they were nearly the same as Jackson/McLelland.

 

Bo ranking is too aggressive for my liking, since he is a super aggressive hitter/hacker, better pitching will tear him apart, I think his FV should be 50/55.

Speaking of bad lists, did anyone see that on the MLB.com rankings, Wander Franco was the 5th best SS prospect. (Tatis Jr, Lewis, Rodgers and Bichette were ranked ahead.)

Dude. I had a nice chat with former world #1 Jason Day and some other golf pros 2 years ago. No way am I jealous that you had a chat with some MiLB players and their moms.

Vlad, Bo, Jansen, and Pearson are all within the top 32 prospects in baseball. Boing!

 

I'd be curious to hear their reasoning for a low risk on Eloy Jimenez, but a moderate risk on Vlad Jr.

 

Vlad is 3 years younger and already a better player, so it's a little confusing.

Maybe they think the defense is a concern, so if they think the bat isn't a 1000% sure thing and he ends up moving to 1B then I guess there's a chance he just becomes Kendrys Morales? IDK

 

Maybe they think his health is a concern, so he just goes full Prince Fielder on us?

 

I think its a head scratcher for sure - Vladdy's gotta be a low risk at this point
