Laika Community Moderator Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 I don't think anyone here has projected him as anything more than a three-outcome type hitter and utility player with mediocre defence. Please don't create a strawman about how everyone on this board projects Cavan Biggio as an all-star and then spend months or years dissecting it. Speak for yourself! I'm very excited about Cavan Biggio. He walks a s*** ton and he hits for power and he can run a bit. The only offensive shortcoming is the K rate, which isn't as much of a drawback in today's game as people think. Glass half empty people like to talk about his defensive shortcomings because there are questions about his infield defense, but I prefer to think about the fact that he can play the infield at all as a big defensive positive so I consider his defense a big plus. I'd be pretty surprised if Biggio does not turn into at least an average regular in the big leagues, given the shape of the modern game and how perfectly his profile is suited for same.

He’s also a lefty so I’m going to automatically assume his ceiling is good platoon player.
Ray Verified Member Posted November 1, 2018 Posted November 1, 2018 By Ben Badler on November 1, 2018 Best Pure Hitter: SS Jordan Groshans (1) made a loud impression in his pro debut in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League, where he showed an advanced approach and a knack for putting the fat part of the bat on the ball. He has the ability to square up premium velocity and drove the ball well to right-center field in his debut. Groshans excites me a lot. From all accounts, he seems to be able to handle high velocity really well and that's always the biggest question mark in HS players. Excited to see what he can do in Lansing next season.

tercet Verified Member Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 The numbers all seem inconsistent/hot at the Surprise stadium, I was there two games this week.
tercet Verified Member Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 (edited) Also trade Cavan Biggio now while he’s hot and get some sort of pitching. He’s missing cookie pitches that random AAAA scrubs like Teoscar feast on. Gail Kim was sort of a dick though, the other times I saw him in the summer he would chat, not this time around pre-game in the AFL. Edited November 4, 2018 by tercet HOTT

John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted November 4, 2018 Posted November 4, 2018 That’s a TJS just waiting to happen. I think pitchers just accept the fact they will have TJS at some point, and just figure they may as well go balls out while healthy and try to get that dough
