Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Leonardo Jimenez definitely deserves some hype. And Hiraldo needs to get out of DSL soon. Unless he has visa issues, he should be in GCL with Conine and Brodt migrating to Vancouver. All three of Groshans, Hiraldo, and Jimenez were drafted as SS, but none of them are expected to stick. Actually all three are more likely 3B/2B or corner OF. Orelvis Martinez may join this mix soon. The organization is deep in infield and thin at pitching. Favouring position player prospects is not a bad play, with the intent to sign some Happ types to 3 yr deals, or trade for close to MLB pitching prospects that have demonstrated durability / no loss of velocity. Risk management approach.
Laika Community Moderator Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Groshans just homered again. I love how these baby leagues play games at like 9 AM
John_Havok Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 He's in the DSL. Yeah, had him and Jimenez up on my screen at the same time and got teh stats combined in my head. Who can tell these guys apart anyways

Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 If the rain holds off for the next hour or so, I'm going to be heading over to watch the PawSox vs SkyChiefs. I can't think of any really exciting prospects who would be playing but should be pretty neat either way.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Well I forgot about one of my quality LoD relievers Bobby Poyner, that stud will be in the lineup.
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 Gotta love when you can walk up during the national anthem and buy a seat behind home plate for $15
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2018 Posted June 23, 2018 There are Beatles themed fireworks after the game, hopeful Yellow Submarine on repeat
Pendleton Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Damn I thought I was getting a brawl, benches and bullpens cleared but everyone just stood there.

P2F Old-Timey Member Posted June 24, 2018 Posted June 24, 2018 Peter Alonso hit three homers today for the AAA Mets, giving him 18 now on the season. I wonder if this guy is more A.J. Reed or Rhys Hoskins.

I can't wait to see what Alonso does in the majors. I don't know how long of a leash Dominic Smith has, but I hope we see Alonso in the majors this season. Man, there are so many exciting prospects knocking on the door right now. Francisco Mejia is swinging a smokin' hot stick over the past month as well.

Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2018 Author Posted June 25, 2018 Groshans goes 2-for-3 with a double, then gets pulled for a pinch runner. Too early to be thinking promotion?

Maybe they bump him to Bluefield or Vancouver to be with Conine? I bet in all depends on where Kloff goes. I see us trying to keep them together like Bo and Vlad.

Jonn Old-Timey Member Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Its a small sample size but its still nice to see him off to a blazing hot start. Just means theirs a legit chance he will end up in Vancouver or Bluefield before long and well on his way to opening 2019 in full season ball.

Would be fantastic if we get Grosh, Kloff, Conine, and Pardinho in Lansing to start 2019. And hopefully the lot of them move up to Dunedin to finish said hypothetical season as well.

Ray Verified Member Posted June 25, 2018 Posted June 25, 2018 Noda's June has been insane: .410/.472/.951 with 9 HR That .951 is his SLG, not OPS btw. His June OPS is 1.423. Needs to be moved up to High-A.
