Laika Community Moderator Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 Is John Stilson still in the system? 2080 is tracking AFL velocities and has him as a grade 65 FB. Sitting 95.3. Same FB as Dillon Tate. Not that it matters much I suppose. He must have s*** secondaries and no command or something because the numbers have been so bad.

The scouting reports on his secondaries were always glowing....Slider and changeup both very good. The control never seemed to be too much of an issue based on his numbers. The only thing with him seemed to always be health. I really don't know why he seems to be a forgotten guy. It wouldn't surprise me at all if one day he's a Sam Dyson (if he stays healthy). His stuff is good.

He's always seemed to have major league reliever written all over him but it's definitely the injuries that have hampered his progress. Nothing to say a dominant AAA season wouldn't get him a September call up though
Joshtowers Verified Member Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Can anyone tell me why Dominic brown is in buffalo after having some decent seasons and even hitting 27 home runs?
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Can anyone tell me why Dominic brown is in buffalo after having some decent seasons and even hitting 27 home runs? Because he's been way below average at AAA the last two years?
Joshtowers Verified Member Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Because he's been way below average at AAA the last two years? He's 6th in runs, 7th in home runs, 3rd in hits and RBI, 2nd in doubles. He leads in strikeouts but is second in walks. Batting average isn't greatest. Can't see how this guy is any worse than Pompey.
Joshtowers Verified Member Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Give him another shot at the majors!

He's a 29 year old that just put up a .639 OPS in AAA, with terrible fielding.
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Hook, line and sinker. IMHO, seemed a little on-the-nose, but can't argue with results.

Goodbye baseball career

In the games that I saw him pitch down there, his fastball sat around 97-98 but he walked too many and was getting hit hard.
spats Verified Member Posted November 10, 2016 Posted November 10, 2016 Stilson pitched tonight...era sitting at 14.09.

WONDERBAT Verified Member Posted November 11, 2016 Posted November 11, 2016 Somewhat interesting podcast about the Jays top 10 prospects. They don't seem to understand much about the big league club but the rest is good. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/blue-jays-top-10-prospects-podcast/

jaysguy44 Old-Timey Member Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 So do we have an undisputed top 3 or 5 for prospects? Like I've previously stated I still don't know a whole lot about prospects.

Like I've previously stated I still don't know a whole lot about prospects. I would say Vlad Jr, Alford, Reid-Foley, Urena, and Tellez. Bo Bichette is up there to, but it's still pretty early with him.
