intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 I can get off work early on Thursday, take a day off work on Friday and Monday is Canada's Thanksgiving so I will see all the games live on TV, but I am still peeved that MLB schedules games this way; in my opinion, it is indefensible. Can't help but agree. This honestly sucks.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 If the blue jays want prime time TV spots, they just need to advance in the playoffs. It's as simple as that. Rooting for the Yankees is something to consider as well. the ALCS and NLCS are played on different days so will both be on PT regardless.

Yeah, saw that play.He is a piece of crap. Ironically he was the winning run at the plate when Giavotella tagged out the guy who slid too long into 2nd to end the game. An umpire or someone should warn him. I expected the Angels to be pissed at that slide, but they didn`t seem to be.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Not totally sold on Hamels. His numbers have been mixed since the trade.. even when he was still with the Phillies. Plus, his career numbers are poor--0-2, 6.97 ER, 1.935 WHIP, 6 HRs given up. He can get away with his stuff vs. a punchless team like the Angels, but he won't get away with it vs. the Jays.

A hard slide is great, but coming in spikes out at someone is wrong.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Deserves a good 96mph fastball to the skull if he pulls that again. That's a little harsh but I take the point and agree that baseball has a way of equalizing things for players who do things like that. Be thankful for several 96+ arms in the pen.

Probably didn't notice it too much because Giavotella wasn't badly hurt. that's disgusting.... league should be punishing s*** like that. A hard slide is great, but coming in spikes out at someone is wrong. Not only with spikes, but he was already essentially past the base when he went into whatever drop-kicking ******** that was. Looked like a deliberate attempt to injure someone Ty Cobb style.

Respect and like Hamel's ability. He has been a very good pitcher and it seems like he has been around forever. I wanted him at the deadline as I think he is an overall better asset than Price for us (notwithstanding how great Price has been for us in restrospect). But I've watched a few of his Texas starts and agree that our RHH line up should get to him.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Deserves a good 96mph fastball to the skull if he pulls that again. Eh, let's not go Royals on him with the bean ball. Also can't afford to have our pitchers suspended this time of year.

A hard slide is great, but coming in spikes out at someone is wrong. Hopefully that's exactly what's going to happen with national televised games. Every play is going to be talked about, reviewed, magnified etc. This very fact may also help tone down some of the antics (i.e. the circus that is known as the Royals). You would think that everyone's goal is to play gritty, passionate ball and leave the antics behind
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Deserves a good 96mph fastball to the skull if he pulls that again. Isn't he a 2nd baseman? It seems like the way to deal with it is pretty obvious.

Of course, pitching against bad AL West teams and getting decent run support against crappy Mariners/Angels/A's teams helps too. His numbers in the AL East are awful except for the O's. Red Sox and Yanks banged him around this season.. and the Jays will hit him hard most likely. O's were the only one he beat. And if rumors are true that the Rangers are using 3 lefties in the rotation in the ALDS, they won't last long.. especially when the Jays crush left handers. And BTW, Hamels has HR issues--20 HRs given up vs right-handers, and the Jays have a fair number of them.
Baseball Player Verified Member Posted October 5, 2015 Posted October 5, 2015 Wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww That's f***ing ******** having at 12:45pm start time on Friday. I'm going to the game that day and this start time is total garbage. I was planning on partying big time for this (me and some buddies have a hotel in center field) now I'm not even going to feel like drinking because it's too early. This start times need to change in the post season.

Mets/Dodgers and Cards/Cubs or Pirates seem to have more priority. It won't help either if the Yanks get knocked out of the wild card tomorrow.

I don't think I've ever been so upset about going to a playoff game Honestly if I knew this would be the start time I probably wouldnt of dropped $1200 bucks on a center field hotel.

Total ********. There should be games on at the same time, it would be more fun that way. Not everybody has time to watch ball from noon to midnight anyway.

It looked intentional. When Anthony Gose did something simliar, but less severe to Tulo in the Detroit series,Tulo gave him a stern warning. I figured Odour would have at least got something similiar from the Angels player/s,because it looked bad on Odours part.It stunk!
