Revere and Tulo had been very successful vs. Gallardo during their national league tenures; Tulo in particular is hitting over .400 vs. Gallardo, 11 for 27 lifetime. And EE has hit over .300 vs. him with 3 HRs as well. He's had two good starts vs. us this year for sure but we've got some guys that have good history of success against him so I'm not that worried personally.

BTW, while the samples are small Hamels' numbers vs. our hitters aren't that great either, FWIR.

Hamels, specifically, I want us to smash because he seemingly dislikes Canada. It would be nice to give him a real reason for that no-trade clause.

Gallardo had a good start against the Blue Jays in late June, so the series is obviously over. Oh well, we made the playoffs at least.

The Gallardo narrative is so dumn. He's a mediocre pitcher who also had a mediocre start against the Blue Jays. Just got lucky.

Its a f***ing post season series I would be excited playing anyone but honestly I'm pretty confident against the Rangers. I really do think were the best team in the American League and its time to prove it.

The Jays are the best team in beisbol.

Ruining his playoff hopes and causing him to make Blue Jays voodoo dolls in the off-season is funny to me.

Agreed. We need to show that Canada-hating commie who's boss!

Payback for our flag being flown upside down in '92? Although a mistake... so they say...

You know what we do - we pack the friggin RC and bring down the house because everyone is screaming their damn heads off before the 1st inning all the way to the 9th when we take them down; we show these damn stupid, arrogant, know-it-all, gun-totting yanks that we don't give a f*** what they think and we the city and the country is behind this team. I hear it all the time here in Cali - Shouldn't the team be called Toronto Snow Birds, no no no, it should be Toronto Penguins ... Yeah buds, let me take you up there and I'll treat you to some yellow snow... oh what's that... it's good believe me just give it a try ... ignorant bastards...

My Canadian and Jays flag are up and flying in my house 3000 mi away. While I can't cheer in person, I'll be cheering nonetheless

The Rangers are going down!!

Rangers are quite poor defensively, with only 3B (Beltre) being above average. 14th in AL in errors, and an OF of Hamilton/DeShields/Choo isn't inspiring defensively. Any runs they score will be given up heavily, and the Rangers will have to carry defensive replacements on the roster just to manage, which will limit flexibility. Stubbs and Venable have been frequently used as replacements due to the D problems of Hamilton and DeShields. Odor is many steps below Goins defensively.

Defense:

1B

Smoak>Moreland

2B

Goins>Odor

3B

Beltre=Donaldson

SS

Andrus=

LF

Revere>Hamilton

CF

DeSheilds

RF

Bautista>Choo

That means nothing. Gallardo's not getting lucky 3 times in one season, especially since the Jays likely have more info on him now.

for sure we have the defensive advantage in most of the positions. Hamilton and Choo both have good arms that we may need to be careful with in taking extra base/tagging up on though.

thats going to be a disaster all over it.

Jays fans will boo, Americans will think we're disrespectful, e.t.c.

Good. They ought to feel disrespected for their 9/11 propaganda.

A lot of people think 9/11 was an inside job.
OK, not sure how that fits into any of this, but the singing of god bless america during the 7th inning was in direct response to 9/11. I don't see how anyone can dispute this.

Haha you called it propaganda. "information, especially of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote or publicize a particular political cause or point of view."

I won't get mad if they play God bless America. Who cares?

Fangraphs isn't exactly kind on Choo's arm, as his arm strength has collapsed since 2012 due to injuries and age. And Hamilton is average at best, plus with all his injuries, it's difficult to evaluate. This is where they wish Martin hadn't gotten hurt or at least have been competent with the bat. DeShields is especially bad in CF, only in for his bat.

And I wouldn't retract that. Propaganda comes in many forms and mediums.

You won't get mad. That's good. But the only thing that would prevent me from hitting the "mute" button is a stadium full of Canadians rightly drowning it out with a chorus of boos. During the regular season, and correct me if I'm wrong, every home team except Toronto plays the song during the 7th. That's the way it should stay.

We went 42-14 from deadline to clinch for a .750 win percentage if you want to cherry pick stats. They are still an under .500 club using base runs, even including the better second half. Teams as bad as Texas rarely make the playoffs, it's a great matchup for us.

I was saying I think Texas is a better team than their full season baseruns would indicate. They did get Hamels and much of their lineup seems to be healthy and playing well. Also by saying that I think Toronto is the clear favourite as their post deadline record is so good. The Jays lineup has been on fire in the 2nd half and almost all of out hitters are having amazing September's as well.

Kevin Pillar hitting 139wRC+ for goodness sake..

That is incorrect. The postseason might be different, it seems more common in the playoffs I'm going on memory.

Well if not every team plays it, then even more reason for the Jays not to.

Most of the players on the jays are American you ignorant jackass , Kind of like Booing your own team, Jesus you are an idiot

Starting an average (or below) lefty against Toronto seems like a bad idea. They should try to avoid starting him.

I let Martin Perez see the Jays lineup once around...then after 9 batters Colby Lewis is in. I wouldn't even put Holland on the roster.
