P2F Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 So Joe Girardi just announced Nova will start Wed in Toronto. Tanaka apparently has a grade 1 hamstring strain. That is a huuuuuuge break for the Jays if it stands.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I'm ready to watch this board completely implode if the Yankees win tonight and come in and sweep us to take over first place. It will be Awful, depressing, and hillarious all at the time. I'm going to set the O/U suicide count at 2. For me it'll be increased alcohol consumption. RIP liver.

thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Filthy splitter =/= off speed junk. Tired of reading that kind of crap every time we go up against someone with good off-speed stuff. It's kind of a fundamental thing in the big leagues.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 Big week in the AL West, BTW: Rangers/A's: Perez vs. Martin (Rangers favorites) Lewis vs. Nolin (Rangers) Gallardo vs. Doubront (Rangers favored) The Rangers could basically seal the AL West with that series and clobbering Houston next weekend. Angels get the Astros: Weaver vs. Kuechel Santiago vs. McCullers TBA vs. Fiers Huge week ahead in the AL West and wild card..

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I really think the Tulp effect is really hurting the Jays. Since going down last Sunday, the Jays have been playing pretty bad baseball. Very sloppy defensively and seems like they don't have as much confidence. It seems to have hurt team morale. Not having Goins at second has hurt the team quite a bit on D. And the lineup just doesn't have the same look. Just my opinion Defensively I don't think it has hurt us overly much, I think Pennington has been fine for the most part defensively and I think the team as a whole just lost their defensive focus today, not just the middle two. Offensively though I do think we miss Tulo's presence a lot, especially in light of how horrendous Pennington has been batting Right handed/weakening of the bottom of the order with him in every day. JD is slowing down noticeably as of late and Tulo would have been the guy with the most potential to pick up that slack right now. We are a better team with Tulo at SS and Goins (even better with Travis) @ 2B. Tulo is a major presence in our line up on both sides of the ball. We lost Tulo and gained Stro. Nothing we can do about it. At the end of the day a healthy, effective Stro is probably worth more than Tulo if we make it beyond a WC game.
Joe Shades Verified Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Is this going to be the last year for Buehrle ?. Is there anyone in the minors upcoming that is decent?
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 f*** Harvey's pitch count. Start that s*** after this game.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 What's his limit today? 70-75 pitches
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 No Tanaka Wednesday vs us. Just heard, not sure if already known. Minor hamstring injury.
Slade Old-Timey Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Tanaka out for the Jays series, so that's good news. He destroys us.

venema20 Verified Member Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 They're not favouring one team or the other. I'm hearing a bit of Yankees bias. Maybe it is just me, but the person I'm watching the game with notices the same.

IMO if anything they've been focusing much more on the Mets. Constant talk about Harvey and his innings controversy, praising Cespedes, and more.

Its interest they are trying to generate, until the last day of the season. Interest is all they ,and MLB TV care about.
