Hutchison needs to start making excellent pitches right now to keep Loup out of this game. Well, shoot, another well hit ball.

imo, he hasn't.

for sure we don't have to hold our breath like we did with reyes so it's definitely an improvement. on the other hand, i've seen more with iglesias, ramirez or even bogarts defensively. so the bat has to come through consistently sooner or later.

if things don't pick up soon, at some point down the stretch his deficiencies are going to be shown up on a much larger stage

He has been earning it imo.

When he is healthy, yes.

.

Well, he isn't healthy.

My question is whether Martin's defensive prowess is a plus considering his total inability to do anything with the bat..

Is Navarro that bad defensively that he's worth less?

How much more do we need to see? I don't get why this guy is given such a long leash with this track record

the sabermetric folk on this forum will say he's our best pitcher after Price

Why the f*** would Gibby send Hutch out there?

Might have something to do with wanting to keep the pen fresh for the most important series in the season. Just a guess.

Ok Gibby , i can understand Hutch starting the inning and being on a short leash ( first batter that gets on, he's gone). A ball gets smoked deep to CF and you leave him in?
