“But I think he’s got (a .300 average) in him,” said Seitzer. “I feel like at this level, it’s the ability to repeat a swing and stay disciplined and aggressive according to a plan and an approach. We know he’s willing to put in the work and that he’s smart. I think he can figure it out but it’s going to be a process to be able to take it from the cage, to BP and then into the game.

I know everyone likes to rip the guy - but for me, reading about all the adjustments he'd made, all the hard work he's put in and to now see the results on the field is the type of feel good stories I love about baseball. I love learning and watching players develop.

Hopefully this isn't a mirage, as he'd be very valuable if he could get his wRC+ up into the 90-95 range.

Over the years Goins has shown that he is willing to go oppo many times.

He's pretty much willing to do whatever the coaches tell him to do.

I can't believe all the well deserved love Goins is getting from this crowd now. He's a undisputed warrior at second base and with the addition of Tulowitzki the infield is shut down and doubles are a ever growing possibility. The small amount of playing time he got prior to the two injury replacement stints that Travis afforded him gave no true reflection of his true values to this team. His youth also reflects that he has room for skill improvements which we are seeing now at the plate....Go Ryan Go....

But I was told my the all knowing hivemind that Goins could not and would not ever improve with the bat and could not and would not ever stick.

Getting that trade value up by the game.

He has made the loss of Travis much more palatable than I thought possible. He looks like a different hitter completely. He's got swagger at the plate now.

Having said all that, I'm still very cautious about whether this is just a good run or a real turning point. The fact that his approach and patience appears different and he's not just having a bunch of hit balls find holes gives me hope that it may be somewhat sustainable.

Interesting stat. I was actually hoping that something like this would happen, that he would continue to be selective but instead of taking lots of walks he would start hitting juicy pitches for base hits.

Not only did Goins get a home run last night, he extended his hit streak (to 11 games, I believe).

if we extrapolate Goins' post-all star game numbers to a full 162 game season and extrapolate it by 15 seasons, with his superior error-free defense, is he HOF caliber?

First ballot

Looking at nights game alone if we extrapolate that over 162 ganes, projecting going forward, Goins should overtake Hank Aaron in 2020 for the all time home run lead

Goins is HOF worthy today.

Better defense than Alomar... Better eye at the plate than Alomar. Is clutch... Has those great veins on his head...

GOAT.
