Has anyone listened to any of Price's comments/interviews from his Rays/Detroit days? When I hear him talk and read his responses to being in Toronto he seems genuinely surprised by how much he is enjoying his time there and loving the city. Was he the same in the last 2 cities he played in?

I am so glad that the Blue Jays will be getting back to Canada today. I keep worrying that some crazy American fan will bring a gun to the game. However, I guess guns don't kill people, people with guns kill people.

 

I hope the Blue Jays will win game 3 today and then get out of Texas as quick as they can.

You can't bring guns to games. MLB protocol requires metal detectors and such at the gates. No way anyone could even try to bring a gun in. So stop worrying.

He is the worst interviewer I've ever heard after Scott Oake. Barry Davis, Arash Madani, Kevin Barker, Jeff Blair, Wilner are all really annoying and terrible and yet people think Buck Martinez and Pat Tabler are bad. Let's start with the bigger issues.

Arash Madani has some really hot takes too. He's on Prime Time Sports from time to time and always offers very strong opinions about the Blue Jays. They're usually mis-informed because he isn't that close to the team and isn't well-versed in newer baseball analysis. For example, on Friday, he tore into the Blue Jays for attempting to bring Marcus Stroman back, saying it's irresponsible and doesn't offer much reward. He didn't think returning as a starter was possible and said people were getting ahead of themselves with Stroman (only "one year in the big leagues").

 

He is brutal but this take isn't completely out there. I think "irresponsible" is the wrong desciptor. We have to trust their medical staff. Leg injuries have been known to throw off mechanics in recovery etc. Dustin McGowan went through that.(and everything else)

 

But the kid has only had 20 MLB starts and most of us have Stro pencilled in as a lock to be a front end rotation guy, based on the stuff we saw in a small sample size.

Texas as a whole. Dallas is more like Toronto, pretty much any big city is, but just the mentality of Texans in general I would say anywhere in Texas is pretty safe compared to a city the size of Toronto.

I don't want to go delving into all the stats, but a quick peek shows that the murder rate in Texas (as a whole) was 4.3 (per 100,000 people). It was 2.0 in Toronto in 2013.
